The Beta is now out for those of you who pre ordered can you use this thread to post feedback on the game.

Can you please list any changes/tips you are finding as you play, and what you consider positive/negative etc

- Launch the Steam client software and log into your Steam account or create a new, free account
- Click the Games Menu
- Choose Activate a Product on Steam
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the activation process

You just need to load up the game once and the graphics folder will be created automatically. You can then populate it afterwards 👍

Plenty of people have got it by buying through the site, so I don't think that's an issue. I don't believe there are any restrictions with US versions of the game, either. Have you manually started the download from Steam?

Are you on a Mac or a PC? Can you take a screenshot of the folder you're looking in?

What's really worrying me, when browsing through the FM 2021 folders, is the lack of ---\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2021\data\simatch\events folder. It has always been there and I've been able to edit the sounds and sound triggers in match_sounds.cfg and match_events.xml. Now there's an fmf package in \data\ named simatch.fmf that surely contains the forementioned match event & sound files, but for the first time, I am unable to view the contents of the .fmf packed files in the previous FM's (2020) Resource Archiver Tool. That makes me fear that SI are going to block any altering (read: improving) of the graphical contents, sounds etc. of this years game. That would be quite unprecedented - and very sad for someone like me who always mods most elements of each year's game - especially the match sounds - to make a more realistic and enjoyable experience.

Fingers crossed there will be an archiver tool for this year's game as well and the great community is able to work its magic as per usual. Frankly the game would not feel the same if that wasn't the case. 😢

It's a beta so just hold your horses for now. I'd be extremely surprised if there isn't a resource archiver out as per usual, but what do I know!

Done it! D'oh. Had to rename them as usual but forgot to reset cache in game 🙂

FM20 skins won't work on FM21.

The stadium megapack isn't usually displayed on default skins and you'll need a modified skin to view them.

cant use those until a 3rd party skin is released default SI skin doesnt allow backgrounds etc

I normally have my graphics saved on an external hard drive but just cant get them to load, I have caching unticked and reload ticked with no luck:

set launcher options: --user_data_location="D:\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2021"

I havent had time to look at the game but just opened it now

quick look and cant see history for 19/20 season in UCL etc
its as if SI havent updated it ??

Did they remove the green circle (look at picture) in FM21? Or is that a bug... I'll be kinda annoyed if they removed it tho..

backgrounds etc are working on default skin but pretty pointless....will wait until 3rd party skins come out

Well it is a beta, after all. That's the whole purpose of the earlier release. However much it's been tested, the sheer volume of people playing it now will result in more issues being picked up. Same as the release of this site, really 😉

I like it so far , but the skin is way too bright for me.
I have an eye condition so I will have to wait till a darker skin comes out........a bit of a shame.
Match engine looks much improved to me.

They all work perfectly fine, so no need to worry in that regard.

All I did was download this season's kits and removed last season's. I kept the exact same files and folder structure otherwise, and it all works as intended.

Internet was going at dial up speed last night so only downloaded some of it before pausing and going to bed. Is it worth starting a save even with the bugs that have already been mentioned on SI.

I need a slight bit of help. I've installed the game via steam on my D drive (PC) and the game is trying to load graphics from the C drive. I've tested using kits so I know I need to tell the game to use the graphics in the D drive, any help on how to do this please would be greatly appreciated.
