Have you wondered what it would be like to play in a champions league where instead of having 8 groups of 4 teams, you have 2 groups of 16 teams? Now you can try this out!

FORMAT ONLY STARTS IN 2021/2022 SEASON, so give one last run in the current format before saying goodbye to the old and hi to the new!

1 round per group (each team plays each other once only). 15 games.

1 - 8 qualify to round of 16. 9 -12 drop down to europa league.

It runs from September through December like the normal champions league group stage.

Any fix/bug reports are welcome, so everything can be tuned to perfection.

Interesting concept

How are you managing the issue with an extended competition overlapping so many international games?
Cheers

Good Idea !!
Will there be schedule conflicts? For example, the English Domestic Cup

could well be but there will be lots of international games+ domestic cups being played when there should be 'free' weeks from UCL games

This is something I am working on for v2. From all the seasons I have simulated I have only gotten 1 or 2 games conflicting with the breaks, which is not ideal, but doable for now. The only big issue is for would cup 2022 during november and december but hopefully some "hardcoded" date breaks for 2022 should fix it.

The scheduling gets a bit hectic but games do get post-postned for some weeks which are free and dont have UCL games like @kingrobbo mentions.

Don´t hesitate commenting here again if you do find that there are issues with this. There is only so much testing I can do by myself.

DuarteSaraiva yes you are on to it and the more users to test the quicker you can get feedback on where/if anything needs addressing sometimes most files need a bit of tweaking I usually holiday for a good 5 seasons to see what issues arise😉
