When I create a new nation in FM21 it reverts back to the original nation name. How do you fix this?

I made a new country out of Upper Volta but whenever you view the nation once the game is loaded it will still show the name Upper Volta even though it's been changed.
I didn't have this problem in FM20 so maybe there is something new in this game that changed.
The nation will show up changed at first but then when you go into the squad screen the old nation name shows up.
I've tried using a different nation and it didn't work.

Thats looking like a bug there, as I have changed countries names previously in the editor and its been fine so you may need to report to SI
@mons are you aware if an Inc file can do this like changing club/stadium/comp names etc

That could be it.
I just looked at the screenshot again and saw the skin I was using has a communist fist in the corner :/
Guess I need to find a different one to use now 😠

User needs to either edit the current lnc file they have or to also change the long name, not just the short name.

I'm using the sortitoutsi namefix Inc at the moment and I changed all the name details on the country already.

Did you change it in all 5 lnc folders?

I tried that but it still didn't fix it. Not sure what it could be.

if your still having this problem, change the name of the extinct nation in the inc folder. The inc file is Competitions and other Fixes. The nations to change are under extinct nations. No Need to start a new game. Download the sortitoutsi real name fix

is the Inc file just a txt file that's easily editable? I haven't touched it before I'll admit.

Yeah, they are LNC files that can be edited using notepad

So I assume just fixing the line's referencing the countries I'm using would work to resolve the issue?
Are there any similar files for Club names? Seems like people always have an issue with my San Diego file where it reverts back to being named Chivas USA.

For the clubs, use the city, club and stadium names inc file. if the club name is not in the inc file, use the following line
#"CLUB_LONG_NAME_CHANGE" CLUB ID OF THE CLUB YOU WANT TO RENAME "NEW NAME OF SAID CLUB" ""
#"CLUB_SHORT_NAME_CHANGE" CLUB ID OF THE CLUB YOU WANT TO RENAME "NEW NAME OF SAID CLUB" ""
Copy and paste the above to the city, club and stadium names inc file and fill in those gaps.
that should fix the issue
All of those people using your file must also have the same entries into their respective inc files.
And make sure that if you are using the inc files from real name fix of the respective FM versions
