Hi there,

I'm trying to do the following via the advanced editor (sorry, I haven't used it that much and I'm not too familiar with it):

I'd like to keep the current substitution rule for English Prem League (3 from 7) for the 21-22 season but

change it to (5 from 9-3 stoppages) for the 22-23 and onwards season. Is that at all possible?

Thanking the community in advance for any help possible.

Cheers

I was going to write an explanation but I found this very helpful post which explains specifically exactly what you'd need to do better than I would have 🙂

There's a further step you need to do if you're going to do it for the 2022 season onwards, and it needs to be done at the stage shown with the red arrow in the screenshot of the steps outlined in the above link:

You need to have two different sets of rules - you leave the current rules but set them only for the 2021 season, and you duplicate the existing 2021 rules but make them apply for 2022 onwards.

Doing so is quite straightforward. I'll demonstrate it using screenshots taken from a file I'm working on, but they'll apply equally in your situation.

Once you arrive at the stage shown by the red arrow in the above screenshot taken from the other post, select the advanced rules button (1) and choose the country's name from the drop-down menu (England instead of Malta in your case, naturally) (2). This will give you a list of all the competitions in that country. Select the Premier League (3) and click the duplicate button.

Once you do, select x1 so that a single duplicate is created (5). I recommend that, in order not to confuse yourself, you give a description (6) - I would suggest giving the season's year for simple ease of reference.

From the drop-down menu on the left (7), choose Premier League. You should now see the 2 separate competition dates. Click on the > next to the current season's division to expand it (8)

From the requirements tab (9) of the current season, set the start year and end year to 2021 (10).

From the requirements tab (11) of the next season, set the start year to 2022 (12).

You can now go back to the other post and follow it from the red arrow onwards, making sure that the substitution rules you change are of those for the 2022 season 👍

@mons . Thank you very much for your very clear explanations. I will follow them over the weekend and report.

Again, cheers for your help.
