Sergio Aguero

Hello

I downloaded the data update today but can't find Sergio Aguero. 

Aguero had a heart problem and retired from football. (Press conference 15 December)

Yeah I know that but he could still be in the game as a retired person. I'm sure he could be a scout or that. I read that Man City want to offer him a ambassador job.

change him in the editor to a non player  if thats what you want

have you searched for him on the data update  here https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-data-update ? if you have you will see the answer and NB an changes in update do not take effect until the next data update release

Cheers for that, I checked the data update so I might wait off before updating him. Reports are saying Man City will offer him a club ambassador role. I don't think he'll be short of job offers that's for sure.

Thing is, there is no such thing in the FM game world as a club ambassador. Either he's a player, or he's on the coaching staff, or he's on the board. If he's none of these, and I'm not aware he's done his coaching badges either, then it makes little sense to have him as visible in the database.  I'm talking from a database maintenance point of view, where do you draw the line at keeping a record visible?

Yeah you're right I guess nobody knows what his plans are atm. I haven't heard that he's done his coaching badges either. 

I've went into editor and tried to make him a coach but not having much luck. I've put him to a non player and removed Barca as his club. Should I need to amend the dates that he joined Barca which was the 1st July 2021? I've got his non playing role as a coach and I've been able to amend his attributes to suit myself. When I save the file and start a new game he's not showing. I missing a step or two out. I have checked my database for when I start a new game and the file that I have saved re Aguero is ticked. I am relatively new to the editing side of things for the game so it's a case of trial and error.

Can I have a screenshot in the editor of where you're setting him to a coach?

The first tab on the person attributes menu has a list of non-playing roles - you need to set him as 20 in whichever role you want him to have.

Yeah sorry it seems that it says recommend current ability role - coach. So I've picked that up wrong. The changes attachment shows what I have edited but yeah I am struggling to load him into my new save.  

Go to person data on the left, where there will be a list of non-playing roles. Set him as 20 for coach and 1 for the rest. That should do it.

what do you mean by no luck? he only becomes a coach when he has a contract

set up in career plans for him to want to be a coach/Ass man  etc this will guarantee he stays in the game and takes up a coaching position in due course

Yeah sorry what I meant in terms of having luck was to have him in my new save as a unemployed coach. 

could be a bug mate there was one like this previously when changing a player to non player and setting up future transfers, I will take a look when free 

NB check the changes tab to see if all changes are marked yes and what CA/PA did you set him and detail level game is set at or it could be he ismt getting loaded due to your settings

Go to his non player data tab and fill his ability and reputation fields so that the game sees he is good enough to pick up when choosing which non playing staff to load when starting a save game.

and NB @McG84   he will be now based in Argentina as a non player FYI 

I very much doubt if, when set to non player, he will show based nation is  England/Spain

If setting a large enough CA and WR and running a medium or large database, he probably will.

and thats with a small DB but Argentina set as playable😉
