No Roy Hodgson on my game

Hi all,

Just tried to replace Ranieri with Roy Hodgson as Watford manager on my save but he is nowhere to be found on the database.

Has anybody else had this problem or know how I could fix this?

He was retired from the database last year. He'll presumably re-appear with the upcoming official winter update.

Aren't you the lucky one. I'm Palace through and through and in real life I wanted him retired before he ever set foot in my club.

At the very best he'd lead Watford to mid-table mediocrity and they'll win nothing, just as Hodgson has failed to do in top flight football throughout his entire career.

Sorry but that isn't correct at all, he has won more than you think! Maybe not in the UK but abroad he has won a lot, a LOT! 

Multiple titles & cups with Halmstads BK, Örebro SK, Malmö FF, Copenhagen, Neuchâtel Xamax.

Runners up in the UEFA Cup with Inter Milan, Fulham.

Plus multiple manager of the year awards abroad and here in the UK.

He isn't one of the best managers no, but he has won stuff and he has proved himself to be reliable. In my opinion, he is old school and nowadays in football, it has changed too much for his kind. Will he win anything at Watford? no of course not, but will he get them playing better than they are now and save them from relegation? yes! more than likely.

I said he's won nothing in TOP FLIGHT FOOTBALL. The closest examples are the two UEFA Cup finals, which he lost ! I'm fully aware of what he has achieved but the successes in Scandinavia and Switzerland are hardly world class. Failed at Liverpool and the abject performance against Iceland at the 2016 Euro's exposed him as a clueless tactician with no plan B and resulted in his departure as the England manager. God knows why the Palace board thought he would be a good fit for us. I threw my arms up in horror when the appointment was announced. Boring, survival football is exactly what I expected and got. At least under Vieira we can see a plan and progression in place.
