You'll need the in-game editor to do that if you've started a save-game already.

Super. Thank you
Leeds1919
You need the in game editor
RoMbA
If you have the in editor in game, i think that you can do that in a saved game. Without that, you must do a new save

This latest kit chat has got nothing to do with this topic. Please create a thread in the right forum and take anything further in there - I'll then move the posts there 👍

Advertising on the boards works, but the video boards are in black (I've tried everything, nothing helps), perhaps the path is not correct to the folder, file the correct path (by default, I have Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Football Manager 2022 \ data \ simatchviewer_uncompressed \ videos \ hd \ video_ads)

Can anyone tell me which files i have to delete to set up the game made ads how they supposed to be, because i dont know which files i put in for the forbidden ones.

What a shame this has been taken down, it was one of the best immersion add-ons for FM.
Without this, there is no immersion or distinction between competitions on match-day, no difference between a PL game or a CL final, just the same money-making ads on every game that have no relation to real life competitions - it becomes boring, monotonous and reduces longevity of playing - only way they get around this is bagging licenses for the competitions, which they won't - so the only one that suffers is the player.
I have a feeling that there is more to come too, can you imagine a FM vanilla game straight out the box with no logo's, kit's, backgrounds, real-name-fix, players faces etc? I wouldn't even buy the game, I'd stick with the last editable edition of FM, or return to old Champ Man games.
Not being funny, but I have ZERO interest playing as Man UFC in the Champions Cup against Zebra whilst playing £38 for the privilege of not being able to edit the game how I want. License it, or leave it all editable.

Exactly why I keep all my downloads, in annual folders, on a server-I just move them across when a new iteration is released.
sI will have to rewrite the code to stop them working

Same mate, never bin anything 😀

Just to raise another point on this, what’s the difference between this and big FM YouTube accounts having their own in game advertising boards from personal sponsors plastered across multiple videos that have thousands of views. Surely that’s a big exposure/licensing problem too then with the loss of views Sega partnered brands would receive - if they make them entirely uneditable then it would be the same for those guys, presumably? You’d like to think they’ve had the same treatment from SI, so it’s fair…
Also, I thought the SI and Bidstack partnership contract was until FM22, so this might hint at it being extended into FM23 and beyond If they’re trying to clamp down?
I don't want to imagine...

Sad day for FM fans. Money interests corrupts even football simulations

Is there a way to get the static adds working without the video ads? or rather which will leave the default video ads in place and working?
Mykal Ó Buachalla
OK, no answer at all… thats grand, I understand
How do we uninstall the adboard patch instead please
bartdude
The static and video adboards will continue to work. New static adboards are easy to make yourself, video adboards require a bit more skill. It's unfortunate that upgrades cannot be uploaded publicly but that's how it is in this litigation obsessed age we now live in.

I have actually been making my own video adboards for a long time that go along side Rabcp's, that isnt the issue, rather they dont work, they used too, but not anymore, they just stopped and all video ads are black. Probs my own fault for having auto updates on within steam, but no matter, I gutted the code, removed all references to video adboards and kept just the static ads, now I've the original video ads working and all my custom statics in place too, a days work but worth it 🙂
bartdude
I haven't had a problem because I've been using a different config file. As I said, making new static boards is a doddle but I need to get a grip on making video boards.
stevemc
I've just tested and custom Adboards still work for me, nothing has changed, I know people are reporting getting all black adboards but surely that is down to them not being installed correctly? There's been no official game update/patch via Steam yet, if they don't work after the January update then they'll have added something in to nerf them completely.
When all this Bidstack stuff started a few years ago, I just used to turn the WiFi access off on my MacBook and put Steam in offline mode when playing FM and that used to stop the targeted ads appearing around the pitch, not sure if it still works but used to.
My final idea for future FM's if these don't work are to use the editor to remove all video ads from competitions/stadiums (it's just a tick box) and just have them all set to static, then just make my own static ads.
Dr. Dazzle
Any chance you could PM your file to me?
Dr. Dazzle
Where is the tickbox to remove the video ads?
bartdude
Sorry but my config is very different and and not based on the recent Adboard Patch but a much earlier collaboration from Rabcp and others. It requires all the altered adboards, so it's not just about the config file, it's a large & personalised package which I've never shared and I'm not prepared to risk it ending up in the public domain since recent events regarding Si and I owe that protection to the original publishers.

No point in paying for my sortitoutsi account then. Short sighted decision by both parties.
mons
There are many, many files you can still download from this site, you know. It's just the adboard file which cannot be hosted on sortitoutsi.
Of course you're free not to renew your premium account, but it's important to be clear that this isn't something which should be laid at our feet. “Both parties” implies we had a say in the matter whereas it was very much a decision forced on the site.
cookamunga
I agree there's still a lot of convenience in using this site, but it feels super hypocritical of you guys to take down a mod just because SI is the one to tell you. What about all the kit mods that clearly infringe copyright, will you remove them as well?
Monetized ads in games that you already paid for is ridiculous and you are making the world worse.
mons
You would do well to understand the meaning of the word “hypocritical”, and understand how wrong it is that you apply it to this site in this context.
You would also do well to understand that there is little upside from our end to antagonising Sports Interactive. As stated here, it is they who specifically asked for this file to be deleted. We can't really get into the specifics; it's why I haven't really commented on this before. This is a small fan-site and all we want to do is help the FM community mod the game and share their experiences, but not at any and all cost. After all, if the site gets closed down, nobody gains, do they?
Moreover, I'm not sure what relation there is between this site and “monetized ads in games that you already paid for.” That's something you might want to take up with the game developers and publishers (Sports Interactive and Sega), which sortitoutsi has got nothing at all to do with.
I'd also love to know your reasoning as to why you think we are purportedly “making the world worse.” Current events being what they are, I think you're overreacting ever so slightly and would go as far to say that it is you who is being hypocritical here, frankly. Get a grip!
I personally take great offence at ill-informed users like you accusing file creators on this site of all sort of nonsense like this. I for one take up loads of my own free time to produce files for the community to download for free, and to help out whenever I can, and I'm far from alone in this. Criticism I can take and civil disagreements and constructive criticism are welcome and can only spur improvements, but to be accused of “making the world worse” or other similar bilge for a decision not taken unilaterally by us is something which leaves me scratching my head in bafflement.
Leeds1919
bravo Mons, well said
cookamunga
You are violating copyright on a daily basis on this site (it gets especially spicy when you charge people real money). If people wanted to shut this site down they would have done so a long time ago.
Let's take a step back and remind ourselves why Sports Interactive asked you to delete this mod. It's because they are selling monetized ads in Football Manager 2022, a game we already paid for. If you remove those ads, they lose impressions and therefore money. While Miles is a great guy, I'd like to point out that Sports Interactive Limited is owned by a giant corporation.
Just don't pretend like there's some greater picture that I'm not seeing, this issue isn't that complicated. A company wants money, 3rd party modification gets in the way of their bottom line, people who host said 3rd party mod get bullied. You see this thing happen all the time elsewhere but I didn't expect SI to stoop to this level.
P.S. Sorry for the slow reply, I was enjoying a few seasons with 1860 Munich with the real-life adboard patch which is still available on other sites. It was quite immersive!
P.PS. I stand by my statement that you are making the world worse if you support monetized ads in finished, single player products. Not sure why you bring up “current events”, obviously the world is f*** up and there are more important things than a Football Manager 2022 mod being removed from this site lmao. This forum is specifically about FM. Having said that, Slava Ukraini.
