My question is, is it possible to build a smaller club into a financial powerhouse? If so, how long realistically could it take and does anyone have any examples of this occurring?
I am currently at Stromsgodset in Norway and in the year 2038. I rule Norway with an iron fist. I've won 16 titles and 15 in a row. 10+ Norwegian cups to go along with it during my tenure. I've been in 5 Champions League finals and won 3 of them. Of those 5 finals, 4 of them were in a row. I make it to the knockout rounds of the CL every year as well, usually quarterfinals or beyond at this point. I believe the Norwegian league is ranked 7th in the world at this point.
However, I don't even have 10 million in sponsorship at this point and am still 5 million behind Molde in that department. We just don't generate a lot of income in other areas such as merchandising and what not, maybe a couple to three million a year. My dream is to make this club into a financial juggernaut that generates tons of money every year and can be compared to the largest clubs in the world. I'm just wondering if this can actually occur. If anyone has any insight or examples I'd love to hear them/your ideas.
Thanks to anyone who took the time to read this.
