On Falcao and Manchester United (don't look for certainties, only one)

For those of you who are looking for certitudes, for black or whites, for ‘never mind negotiations, is he definitively going?’, stop reading here because nothing is definitive in this saga yet.

The story comes from Madrid. Manchester United, I have been told, have paid an advance figure (which varies depending who you ask) for Falcao. That would mean that they are willing to pay 60 million euros for him. All that money for one player? That is the part that I cannot comprehend.

If it is true that they have made an advance payment like they did with De Gea, it means that they will almost certainly get the player. Do Manchester United need another striker? It is becoming obvious by the day that they are selling Wayne Rooney, but will anybody buy? Madrid and Barcelona are not interested. Not many other options left, and they are all in England: Chelsea, City? So they will need to sell Rooney to follow up that payment with the rest of the huge fee.

To complicate matters, Real Madrid have set eyes on two players and the media will start the saga as soon as they get KOd from the Champions League (or win it): Gareth Bale and Kun Agüero. If Kun goes, then there is a space open for Rooney, but there are lots of bridges to cross before we get there.

So, the only certitude is that from the Spanish club the leak is that Manchester Unite have made a payment for Falcao. Are they trying to push for a deal, are they trying to warn other potential suitors (Chelsea and PSG, mainly. City are not looking to replace Agüero… if they convince him to stay)

We are at that stage of the season where, yes, annoying I know, but anything can happen still

Guillem Balague.

We don't need a striker, simple. Despite his obvious qualities, Falcao shouldn't be our main target. A midfielder should be our priority.

Rooney to drop back?

With Scholes retiring and Anderson probably being sold, it could be conceivable that Fergie has talked to Rooney about being that creative hub in midfield.

Should buy Sexy Cabaye.

Cabaye would be a very good signing but he'd probably cost a fair bit.

I'd rather we went for Strootman.

Aye he'd be about 20-25m.

Ashley is a tough negotiator.

Ferguson said: "Big signings? You are normally talking about forwards but it's complicated enough as it is with the forwards I've got."

On his interest in Lewandowski, he added: "Yeah, but Bayern Munich are strong with that too.

"We just have to wait and see where we are in terms of if we win the league. Then it may be different."

Going to be playing the groundbreaking 1-0-9 formation next year.

I like it.

Still hope both Rooney and Hernandez are at OT next year, regardless of the outcome of the Lewandowski transfer.

I actually would prefer we kept Hernandez to Rooney if we had to choose, I like Hernandez a lot more, even if he is an inferior player.

I'm a little worried about us selling Hernandez and him continuing his stupid goal to minute ratio whilst starting for another club, he'd score so many.

Can't see SAF selling Hernandez unless behind closed doors he's expressed his desire to leave.

As for Rooney I could see us selling him if the money is right considering we've got Welbeck, Hernandez, RVP and then we could go for Lewandowski. Personally I think we'll sell Anderson and Rooney will play in midfield or on the wing sometimes as I can't see us keeping Nani either.

I can see both Nani and Anderson leaving, Scholes retiring and Rooney moving into a deeper role.

Jones was brilliant last night, again. Fergie's had a few massive words to say about him today, maybe a bit OTT.

To be fair Jones has been quite impressive given how many injuries he's actually had.

So? Doesn't make Ferguson's statement any less ridiculous.

He said that based on his recent performances Jones could end up being United's best ever player.

He hasn't been sold so he could be. Not likely but he could.

He also said Cristiano Ronaldo was going to be the world's best player, so it's not all guff. Fergie sees him in training every day.
