Pardew should be very surprised. As it is still definitely in Newcastle hands. Obviously Wigan and Aston Villa both can't win on the final day. And Stoke, Sunderland and Southampton all have to play each other. Meaning there will be a guarantee on dropped points. (Stoke and Sunderland also have to play Tottenham)
If Newcastle beat QPR, reckon we will be 80% safe.
If Wigan beat Swansea in midweek which everyone expects, followed by Man Utd and Liverpool beating Swansea and Fulham next weekend. Swansea (43) v Fulham (40) could be a potential relegation showdown

Regardless of David Luiz's reaction, Rafael got sent off because he blatantly fouled him. He was nowhere near the ball and he got backlift ffs.

David Luiz set him up for it and Rafael was stupid enough to react and knowing the player he should of known luiz would make the most of it. I must admit surprised Webb sent off a united player.

I agree its a red but there's not doubt Luiz's reaction got Rafael sent off. Ramires did an almost identical thing to Jones who didn't react and Ramires didn't even get booked.

The argument that he done that and wasn't punished so we shouldn't be either is ridiculous though.

I was talking purely about Luiz's reaction and how that got Rafael sent off using an example from the same game.
Tbh, I don't even see why the incident is such a talking point.
Luiz is a bit of a twat, it's not the first time players have kicked him because of him being a twat (Aguero a few weeks ago for example), it won't be the last and Rafael rightfully got sent off for it.
It would be nice if referees started carding Luiz for his elbowing before players retaliated, but its probably not going to happen and it's a little bit of a shame that Luiz won't even get a bruise this time. If Rafael had done it in a game that mattered I might have cared a little bit more, but I hardly think it's that much of an issue.
