The stadium editor is accessed via the FM23 editor place the attached file Comp Editor File into this directory in order to unlock it; C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2023\data

Once in the editor search for a stadium and access the new stadium sides panel. through this menu we can add and remove stands, set a stand to be a terrace or all seater and add or remove roofs. This is all we can do though, we cannot change stadium models/textures, add or remove tiers from stands, add boxes/tv screens or have stands at different heights and/or lengths.

From playing around with the editor I have the following observations:

  • When changing a stand, it works best to remove all details effectively resetting that stand to 0, then making your changes.
  • When editing a stadium the capacity of all 8 stands must match the actual stadium capacity.

After downloading and putting the file uploaded by priority76 a couple of posts above, Braga's stadium was fixed but now the game doesn't recognize my downloaded 3D kits from the Portuguese league, Braga's kit looks like the standard generic one now, any idea why?

Nothing to do with the stadium file.

Nothing to do with the stadium file.

I was playing just before exiting the game and copy pasting the file into the editor data folder, i opened again and lost the kits.

I think it has something to do with the config.xml file that is giving me troubles, i removed the archive and i still can't get the game to recognize the kits i had installed before.

It was all teams but i don't think the stadium editor file was the problem, i did something wrong with the config and ended up having to reinstall everything for a clean slate, i fixed it now sorry for bothering.

The stadium editor doesn't touch kits in any way at all, so you have something else going on

Does this file fix AFC Wimbledons ground?

I am just about to start a save with them and hate that main stand sitting on its own with 2 burger vans sat either side of it…

It's working fine, you might need to download and install it again though as any official SI patch will overwrite the files again.

I´m wondering why is it so hard for the editor to creat a clear guide if he already put so much work into it. Instead he acts like a dick if people and maybe new players ask questions….

Hey man, good job really useful. I just notice that before replacing the file I have as type of affiliation to chose “where's youth team” and I love the option. With your file I don't know why this option disappears. Don't know if someone already notice or if is possible to fix it. Any way, I think if I use your file for make some stadium change than I replace with tge original one, changes doesn't disappear.. am I wrong? Not at home after I ll try

I just downloaded this mod to fix a few stadiums. However, I can't get them to show up in-game. I have followed the instructions, but my new save file, with the new DB that I made, still uses the “old” stadium looks. How do I fix this?

Hello, i just found this stadium editor for fm23, i gave it a try and it works amazing but not on fm24.

I'm going to create a clube and it would be great if u could personalize the stadium like i did in fm23.

Are you going to release a version that can work on fm24?
Keep up the good work!

If you want it to be available on FM 2024, this is how:

  1. Install the FM 2024 Resource Archiver tool (make sure it's installed on the same drive as FM 2024)
  2. Select “Extract Archive”
  3. Open “comp editor” (Normally in ~[FM Install Location]/data~ folder)
  4. When it asks “Choose A Folder” save the folder to the desktop
  5. Go to the folder on the desktop (called “comp editor”)
  6. Open “format” then “database”
  7. Open “stadium.xml” in a text editor
  8. Head to line ~573 ish
  9. Set the values for “allow add” “allow remove” “allow move” from “false” to “true”
  10. Set the value for “debug_only” from “true” to “false”
  11. Save the XML file
  12. Head back to the Resource Archiver
  13. Select “Create Archive”
  14. Select the “comp editor” folder from the desktop
  15. Select to save it over “comp editor” in the data folder
  16. Launch the 2024 Data Editor and you can now edit the stadiums

This is good. I particularly wish to express appreciation for the initial post by chirucristan on 4 December 2022.  The 12.86 MiB comp editor.fmf offering he made for the FM23 game's Pre-Game Editor is of great help with setting up the game as one would wish.  Because I think it needs to be pointed out that a fair-sized stadium of about 12,800 for a third or perhaps fourth tier club is probably almost never? going to please a FM gameplayer. Why?  We all wish to take that fourth tier club up the ladder to the leading league and then on to something like European or South American continental club competitions, yes?  Then that nice (for the 4th Level) stadium looks out of place and cannot help financially support a club that is ready to fight with Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter, Bayern, PSG or the likes of Boca Juniors, River Plate, Flumenese, Gremio, Santos, or SPFC.  12,800 is a minnow club's home park.

Why is it then important to thank chirucristian and (before him) rabcp for doing this from year 2021 until the FM23 edition?  Well, these cute little 9,000 or 12,800 capacity stadiums who do not have all of their 8 sides filled (no corners with any seating or even standing terraces) look simply out of place and, frankly, ridiculuous as we perhaps are able to expand from 12,800 to, say, 21,650 maximum capacity.  Perhaps one can actually have that - and, if really lucky, all 21,650 as seater.  But the problem is that same stadium looks goofy with completely empty corners.  Name the Champions League or UEFA Cup regular participant of the last 8-10 years that does not have its own home stadium that is fans-in-seats/stands fully surrounding the pitch. [Correct me if I am wrong, but if you have not corners at the game's very start, you will never have corners - and your newly built stadium for 785-900 million British Pounds to replace the 12,800 capacity old home will not have corners….true?]

The look of the game matters for sincere gameplay enjoyment.  So thank you to rabcp who got the ball rolling on this comp file and for those like chirucristan & mons, Bielsa, StuartNG, etc. who kept it rolling. The ability for each of us to try to improve upon stadium corners (and roofs) via this fmf file prior to gamestart is immense.

Now - the only question:  What to do for FM24?  Might this same fmf file - at the start of this thread - do the trick?  y06fitzy, we can use your help, your smarts to know how best to proceed. Thank you.  (your steps 1 - 16 was very decent of you to offer as detailed help over a ½ year ago on 9 April - above)

Note:  Priorty76 added some help with his various expanding edit stadium files (as he expanded, added more of his own work edits).  And this is clearly a good way for many gameplayers. So thank you for that, too.  However - the key is to keep it so that each game user can self determine stadium configurations at gamestart. The Pre-Game Editor and Resource Archiver (are free) come with the game.  Easy enough to use and that way one does not have the horror of having the Glasgow Rangers Board tell one the next year move from iconic, historic Ibrox is definitive - and it's a move to a cornerless box that looks like an oversized Serie C Stadio in Italia. It might be 53,000 capacity, but it looks like…..(well, you know what  - example FC Bordeaux's stade before rabcp showed us how to fix that mess).  The “new stadium build” in FM is a cannard.

If you wish to see a good, well created stadium in FM, the one to view is Boavista FC of Portugal's home estadio - well, that's so much better - and yet this football sim game we love is lacking in stadiums of this caliber in the world's top 300 clubs throughout the base FM database.  And it's fully wrong that normal gameplay does not allow the diligent gameplayer to achieve over gameplay years of success(es) something that looks like that kind of professional, top-flight arena.  The mechanics of the game never let you get there.  And, no, buying another software add-on from another 3rd party source is NOT the correct fix/answer. That's broke.  The In-Game Editor should have it. Full stop.

Thus - the importance of what rabcp started here in April of 2021 and chirucristian continued in December 2022, early year 2023.  Thank you both.

Message for Florin.Hangu who posted in this thread back in January. You have knowledge, I do believe, that can assist many here. Specifically with how to proceed using FM24 and wanting to ensure one's desired club has the right arena as the centrepiece of one's managerial (very promising!) career. At the SI Community website you were in the thread pointing forum viewers to a resource from a contributor named cleiria. His created resource is called  [FM24 EDITOR][MOD] Customize Editor by cleiria - November 6, 2023, to be found  in the Editors Hideaway Download Forum FM24. Yes?  You gave it your endorsement on 16 May of this year.

Please, if I may ask it here, share with us what you know and how it has worked for you. One issue of note is that the link to cleiria's FM24 Editor Mod, well, that link for the share download appears to not be now functioning.  If that's a very helpful and trustworthy resource, let's let folks know how to access it and shine some thanks on cleiria if he's made the how-to-fix-stadia even more user friendly. Thank you very much.  The big extra is that what cleiria created works for multiple FM year editions, true? Thanks.
