3D Match Balls Pack for FM24

Hello. One of the three major titles in the Japan Soccer League. Cup Match I'll put in the ball for The Emperor's Cup.

By the way, here is the J League match ball. The image shown is from only one game.

Thanks man. I have added to the folder and moved my J League one to the ‘Alts’ folder so people can swap it if they want to.

Is it a way to change this uggly “red ball” during winter games ? I play with Rennes (Ligue 1) and there is a lot of match playing with this red ball, even in february with 15 °C !

Yes, previously i had “3d balls”. In Portugal or Italy it's OK, in France too except during winter. It's weird. 

I'am playing with Daveincid realism megapack, maybe his “weather” file is in cause  ?

possibly mate yeah. you could always try changing the winter ball colour to white in preferences>customise skin colour.

thanks mate. see attached. i've added them into the download zip file too but placed them in the alts folder. just make sure to change the name of them when moving over.

As the game can use different colour balls in the winter, I don't suppose there is any way for the game to automatically pick up your alt yellow balls in the winter is there? E.g. in Premier League the White EPL is used most of the time, but then in winter the yellow EPL ball is used.

I have literally just figured out how to do this!

So using Ligue 1 as an example, in my ‘balls’ folder, I have 2 saved balls - no pun intended haha

File names are ‘ligue 1’ and ‘ligue 1 w’. The one with the w was a yellow balls. I added the code below to the config file and it changed the dark orange winter ball to the yellow one I had saved. I obviously need to test it more but I think it does.

In my ball pack I have two zip files, one for Summer ball and the other for the Winter ball. Both balls are named the same, so when the time is appropriate you simply right click the required ball zip file, select “Extract Here” and say yes to overwrite. You can do this whenever you decide, using the same procedure to overwrite the current ball. I suggested this procedure as a simple way to change the balls with just two clicks but I didn't get much positive feedback of the concept. JakDevlin has used a different procedure to solve the seasonal ball issue. I've found that doesn't always work how it should, as I tried something similar in the past. What I use works great for me and no changes need to be made to the config file. I also make my own Winter balls. Of course the pack rarely includes both seasonal balls because they need to have the same name, unless you use the alternative method mentioned, so you have to make one yourself, or hope someone does. Another option is to place the Winter ball in an “Alts” folder, then copy and paste when required. The only issue there would be the need for an “Alts2” folder containing the Summer ball in order to switch for Summer. However, there still an anomaly in FM whereby on occasion the 3d match ball would appear as solid yellow in Winter when using the ball pack. Even more weirdly, for me in FM24 the Winter ball for the EPL always appeared as solid yellow. I changed the Winter ball colour in FM settings from yellow to white and the correct ball then appeared ! It also reduced the occurrences of an all white ball instead. Whatever, we can't expect Si to sort the issue, as they don't entertain issues when third party files are used in their game. On a personal level I haven't updated the ball pack, due to the work involved for such a comprehensive range, especially seeking out a decent ball graphic to work with. Also, I only play in the English leagues, domestic cup competitions, European cup competitions and England internationals. JD has done a fine job with the latest pack, so he's the man right now.

I have just tested my method out in Ligue 1 using the code I put in the previous comments. First game of the season used the white ball correctly and then I simmed to January and the winter ball was being used correctly.

I think what I will do is create another ‘balls’ folder and place it in the alts with the code for all comps using 2 balls and if anyone wants to use it and test it then all good. I'll get it done as soon as I can and go from there.

I tried in EFL and upto end of Oct white ball used, then In early November it changed to yellow

I've been looking the in the Editor for FM23 and the attached images show the only leagues that have Winter Ball Start and End dates.

I will try and add as many winter balls as I can for these leagues for people to test out if they want to. 

I will try to get it done over the weekend for anyone who wants it.

That makes sense as I played leicester v Leeds, todays game 3rd Nov, and the ball was the yellow EFL ball, previous game-last Saturday v Huddersfield was white ball

the yellow balls do work, they are dictated by the league you play and the date in the season

for example England yellow ball is 1st Nov to end of Feb

Hi you might already be doing it anyway but I noticed that the SPL wasn't in that list you attached.  Is it possible that you could do that as well if you already aren't please.

Update for getting winter balls to automatically work correctly

The code that I have used, seems to be working correctly. Note that not every league / competition in the database has winter ball dates assigned (see attachments). The competitions that I tested with winter dates assigned worked fine and the competitions without dates didn't work e.g. Vanarama National League, FA Trophy, Champions League, Scottish Premier League. Once the pre-game editor is released for FM24, I will have a look and see which leagues have winter dates assigned. The only solutions would be to edit the database beforehand to add winter league dates or just manually change your ball in the ‘balls’ folder.

I have also found that there are 4 types of balls that are used. @bartdude this may be the reason it never worked all the time before and the winter ball dates too. See below:

• Standard Ball - The ball that is used outside of the winter ball dates.
• Winter Ball - The ball that is used within the winter ball dates.
• Knockout Standard Ball - Ball that is used in a competition knock out rounds. E.g. Champions League Quarter Final. (I tested this one and the Standard ball did no work but I added code for the knockout round and it worked as normal)
• Knockout Winter Ball - Ball that is used in a competition knockout round but it falls within the winter ball dates.

I will keep testing and hopefully have something done soon. Nice one!!

There's a couple of balls that I'm not keen on. The EPL is too blocky, it doesn't make for a good rolling ball. The FA Cup ball does not present well at all. I've redone both, Summer and Winter. Take your pick.
