Decent, much better than the old monstrosity.

The evolution of Canada's Umbro Kits

Umbro still do the best kits, despite Nike having done everything they could to run them out of business.

Given Southampton are now with adidas, the only teams they have left in these islands is the Huddersfield, Welsh and Irish kits. Long way from their heyday. Quite sad really to, given their kits were superior to a lot of their counterparts.

Rangers are now with Puma.

Nike either took over (England, Man City, Athletic etc.) or let expire (Sweden, Rangers etc.) nearly every deal Umbro had after they decided to sell them last autumn.

It's sounds a bit like corporate sabotage - the idea that, once they were getting rid, they would pick off the lucrative deals and leave the company as a bit of a relic. Nike's kits are largely shite too.

Talking of shite, our new home strip (don't know how to link it) is certainly looking that way.

Are people really surprised Nike aren't the most ethical of companies?

The away is alright. No way of doing the home kit with the adidas stripes without fucking it up somehow though.

Agreed - away kit is quite decent, home kit is ruined by the adidas stripes.

The home kit's ruined by the collar. That sort of collar never looks good.

The stripes don't help, though.

Why not just have the stripes be the same colour as the sleeves?

The collar wouldn't be so bad if it was blue or in whatever West Ham like to call their dark colour (burgundy? maroon? red?), as with the stripes though the white clashes with the rest of the kit.

Edit: Still think this is the best West Ham kit from recent years:

(Though it is ruined by having Ray Winstone, the absolute cunt, modelling it)

I dunno - seems a bit weird with no blue on there. Though obviously not helped by their... ahem, glamorous model. I quite liked the one they wore this season.

Well because Nike used to own Umbro and sold them off quite recently iirc, it makes sense that they're trying to beat Umbro in every way possible and making Nike the leading designer brand in Football, and other sports.

Cardiff brought out a kit, the home shirt was red, and the shorts a slightly darker shade of red, there was uproar... Cardiff then gave the fans the choice of short colour, these were the choices;

Number 4 won, pointless poll tbf.

Umbro pulled out of a 4-year contract with us so we have new manufacturers this season. Rumoured to be Puma, who'd better keep it simple and not fuck up the simplest design known to man. Blue and white vertical stripes both on the front and the back and down the sleeves, white shorts, black socks. Not difficult.

Have Southampton announced next season's kit yet? They need to go back to the classic red and white stripes.

I thought the dark red shorts actually worked with Cardiff's kit. I mean, they should be in blue anyway, but that was quite a decent-looking combination.

Have you seen Puma kits?

They don't seem to know how to do simple black and white stripes on our kit. Though you'll probably just get Sheffield Wednesday's kit with different badges.

I have, and it bugs me that they (and most other manufacturers, to be honest) just produce templates rather than actually design kits. Also true for Umbro, but I reckon Umbro were somewhat persuadable with regards to the home kits.

Pretty much every manufacturer is now prepared to stick to templates. One example is that Dortmund's Champions League final kit is exactly the same as ours, just with white instead of yellow and different badges.

It's likely you'll just get whatever Sheffield Wednesday's kit is but with a lighter shade of blue and different badges.

Don't think they have revealed their new kit yet, but they just recently announced a kit deal with adidas.

Agreed on the classic red and white stripes. And the black shorts.
