This is my take on a Juventus tactics being used my Thiago Motta in a 4-2-3-1

  • A sweeper keeper with strong ball-playing skills, as seen in Di Gregorio.
  • A defensive pair consisting of Gatti, a ball-playing center-back, alongside Bremer (or Kalulu) as a central defender assigned to mark the opponent's center-forward.
  • Fullbacks in a back-four setup: Savona, who holds a wide position but tucks in narrow when needed and marks the opponent's right-sided attacking midfielder; and Cambiaso, who advances further up the pitch and cuts inside. Both fullbacks are prepared to mark the opposition wingers if they become highly influential, either through key passes or clear-cut chances.
  • A midfield comprising a defensive midfielder in Thuram and a deep-lying playmaker (DLP) in Koopmeiners.
  • An attacking unit featuring Mbangula as an inverted winger, Nico González as a wide winger who cuts inside to shoot and marks the opposition's left wing-back if required. Yildiz as a no. 10 Attacking Midfield. Vlahović leads as a lone pressing forward.

The tactics focus on building from the back, with an emphasis on playing out of defense and working the ball patiently into the box. The team adopts a slightly higher tempo, actively running at the opposition’s defense to create opportunities.

The buildup starts with the center-backs, progressing through controlled passing sequences, and a strong counter-press is applied immediately upon losing possession. Defensively, the line is set higher, with defenders stepping up aggressively to maintain compactness and limit the opponent’s space in their half.
