Update 1.4 - 2024/10/19

Note: I recommend starting the save in the 24/25 season (using a USA start date) since transfers, contracts, and database changes reflect the 24/25 IRL season. Also, consider using the optional "World Champions League by Dallan" file to align with the goal of raising the MLS and U.S. clubs standing in world Football, it also helps in getting in high-profile Players.

I also added a setup video on the bottom for the  “ideal” pre-game leagues and database setup. At least for me.

  • USL Expansion: Created a new division (USL 2 - 4th Tier).
  • Canadian Teams: Added top Canadian teams to the U.S. leagues (Championship).
  • MLS Title Playoffs: Added 2nd leg for quarter and semi-finals.
  • Pre-season Leagues Cup: Pre-season Leagues Cup now properly invites all winners from the 16 chosen divisions worldwide.
  • Lamar Hunt Cup: Rearranged some dates.
  • Club Finances: Rearranged finances of clubs.
  • Club Objectives: Added club objectives for clubs in the first 2 divisions.
  • Contracts and Transfers: Implemented up-to-date 24/25 contracts & transfers (excluding manually transferred players & coaches to MLS).
  • Transfer Values: Transfer & contract values have been rearranged accordingly to the players' CR & Reputation.
  • Player CA & PA: Rearranged some CA and PA of top MLS players.
  • Player Value Fix: Fixed a bug where player values would drop increasingly after a transfer.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 1.3 - 2024/10/14

  • Leagues Cup: Leagues Cup file no longer needed - Cup now implemented in main file.

note: Still working on removing some age-restricted B-clubs. Let me know if you find any! Enjoy!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 1.2 - 2024/10/13

  • Homegrown Update: Canadian and Puerto Rican players now count as homegrown.
  • Loan Fix: Player loans now last up to 1 year.
  • Homegrown Status Fix: Adjusted some homegrown status issues.
  • Youth Teams: Added U18 and U23 teams for top 3 divisions (more coming soon).
  • New Registration Rules (only for top 3 divisions): Max squad size 25, 3 loan players, 8 homegrown nation, 4 homegrown club, 8 foreign players, U19 players always eligible.
  • Club Finances: Boosted finances for select clubs and overall league power.
  • New Start Dates: Choose June, July, or August 2024.
  • Feeder Clubs: Removed max age for independent feeder clubs.

note: Still working on removing some age-restricted B-clubs. Let me know if you find any! Enjoy!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 1.1 - 2024/10/08

  • Transfer Windows: Rearranged due to complications in later seasons.
  • Season Break: Redesigned, as it didn’t occur in some saves.
  • Season Start Date: Set for June 2024 (not reflecting real-life results from 23/24).
  • Awards: Fixed bugs and added Player of the Month awards.
  • Regional Strength: Set to 1.0.
  • uploaded on steam

hmm interesting this shouldnt happen. ill fix it for next the update thanks for the feedback.

when it comes to the teams missing, since i dont follow us soccer really i just went by the ingame reputation of a club and figured with over 200 teams in 8 leagues there should be something for everyone. I also got rid of 2nd teams

I loaded up the new database and didn't get to sim a season yet

I noticed some problems

23/24 season is skipped at start of save and all players have stats simmed for 24/25 season

RGV Toros (in wrong league) and San Diego Loyal both have 0 players (a lot other clubs have this issue too, mostly in the lower divisions. other databases maybe have the rosters you can borrow from) USL League 2 is skipped

I picked FC Tucson to start save and noticed I had $37m USD transfer budget and $68m USD wage budget, as well as I was missing over ⅔ of the teams roster

I haven't checked anything else yet 😛 will wait for another update, appreciate your work. I have no idea how to help but I'd love to learn. This is still closest thing to the best US database, Zealands from FM22

hey, appreciate the help, thanks!

here’s some clarification on the issues you encountered:

“23/24 season is skipped at start of save and all players have stats simmed for 24/25 season.”

  • yes, starting in 24/25 is on purpos since i figured no one wants to play a season in the past anymore. Players take stats like games played, goals, assits etc. over from the 23/24 season to the 24/25 season yes, im still looking to get rid of it - but starting the next season (25/26) its all set back like it should.

“RGV Toros (in wrong league) and San Diego Loyal both have 0 players (a lot of other clubs have this issue too, mostly in the lower divisions. other databases maybe have the rosters you can borrow from) USL League 2 is skipped.”

  • thanks for the heads-up. i placed teams in leagues based on their in game reputation, and i didn’t realize USL 2 was missing until now. definitely plan to add it in the future. the missing players in lower divisions are low on my list since rosters will mostly change as they progress to the top tiers. If i have time, i’ll look for a database with real players for those teams. For teams like San Diego, they do have enough money to get themself a full roster in the first transfer window - but yeah i should give them some players for the start.

“I picked FC Tucson to start the save and noticed I had $37m USD transfer budget and $68m USD wage budget, as well as I was missing over ⅔ of the team's roster.”

  • yes, teams in the first 3 divisions received a finance and reputation boost to be more competitive. i know 30-40 mil seems like a lot for a tier 2 team, but it’s to offset the low income in those leagues early on.

Thanks for trying it out! you’re always welcome to reach out about any problems or bugs. Remember, the main purpose of this database is to improve American soccer’s standing worldwide, so i focused more on boosting stats, finances, and teams from the top 3 divisions instead of paying attention to strict realism. of course, a touch of realism is important, but the goal is to help the MLS compete with European leagues in a few years - its a fantasy league after all 🙂

I see your reasoning, personally I really don't mind. I actually prefer to start in FM24 season start since the database is still on the default FM24 database as far as age, potential, ability, who is available, etc. Plus I get one more year with the players I like old and young. If I was concerned about it I would use a database update to current season if one was compatible - probably super likely with the delay of FM25

Okay, that kinda stinks cause the whole point of playing an expanded US database like this one is so I can play with the rosters and rebuild those lower league US teams that I watch all the time lol. I think that is probably why most people play these databases, play with their local lower league team or try see what US lower leagues are like in promotion/relegation

Tucson is 3rd or 4th in the database if I am not mistaken (I attached screenshots) - they actually belong to the missing USL2 league which is technically the 4th tier of us soccer. Yeah they got the money but they shouldn't have too - It's odd when a 3rd division team is offering 30m for Prem League starters. I am not playing for strict realism, I want fun and I do want the US to have better attraction and buying power but this is like every league has premier league budgets. Isn't there a way to change the leagues income?

Yes it is a fantasy league and thats fine! This is just feedback to help make it more fun.. there's a severe lack of good US databases on FM24 for some reason

ok i'll added it to my list 🙂 its hard for me to find a proper source with all us divisions ranked even wikipedia just has 3 tiers

USSF League 1

MLS

(east/west)

USSF League 2

NASL

USSF League 3

USL Championship

(east/west)

US Soccer Fed classifies these three leagues as official divisions. Amateur organizations are recognized by USSF but the inidivual leagues are not. So, after MLS → NASL → USL Championship it goes…

USL League 1

(central/eastern/southern/western)

USL League 2

(central/eastern/southern/western)

NPSL

(northeast/south/midwest/west)

Then, after that it is;

United States Adult Soccer Association State Leagues

USASA Regions I II III & IV

and finally

US Club Soccer

USCS

(east/midwest/south/west)

This is to my best knowledge. I think this is how it would be set up if it was pro/rel. These links have a lot more useful information for you thank wikipedia will have. Let me know if I can help. Cheers

i will definetly implement USL 2 and the rest seems pretty much up to date or at least feels like a natural progression. But i will not implement regions or west/east stuff since getting rid of it is what got this whole project even started xD. And its also a pain in the ass to modify that in the editor lmao.

If you got more information about the leagues, players, clubs just hit me up, its always welcome 🙂

Atm i'm working on a revamped version of the World Champions League / Fifa Club World Cup which is taking way more time than anticipated so lets see how long its gonna take me to start with the USA changes. Planning on dropping the next update on sunday.

I have not asked anywhere and am not asking for you to implement regions, I am not sure why you think I am. I am letting you now what regions are encompassed in each division so you know what the correct clubs would be for each division.. i.e. Rio Grande Valley Toros being in the wrong league + not having any players..

There is a lot of information in the links I provided you, it is straight from the leagues themselves which have directories to most of the clubs! Just take a peak lol.

i know i know maybe i phrased it wrong im glad you noticed it and i also already implemented it now in my current file even tough USL 2 wasnt even in the fm24 database so i had to create the whole league new. Its still not completle done for upload tho 🙂 the thing with the missing players is fixable but tbh would take way to much time so i just force the lower tier clubs now to buy a lot of free agents from the get go.

If you want we can also work on that database together. specially for stuff like adding players and such i could really use help

As yall can see, the file made a pretty significant jump in size. This is because i merged all IRL Transfers and Contract changes with the MLS file. We reached over 450k database changes now 🥳.

I also added a setup video in which you can see how i set up the leagues. Of course you can set it up how ever you want but for me this is the best way to play the save without having to much load on the file and yet still have the best players and leagues.

Thanks for expanding this pyramid! Would you please mind changing the “8 tier” text into “9 tier” in the title and the post text (and replacing the image with the 8 tiers with one with the new 9 tiers as well)? :-)

Is there a way to get rid of the MLS taking 25% of the transfer fee for selling a player? It's happening on every player sale I make.
