Update 1.4 - 2024/10/19

Note: I recommend starting the save in the 24/25 season (using a USA start date) since transfers, contracts, and database changes reflect the 24/25 IRL season. Also, consider using the optional "World Champions League by Dallan" file to align with the goal of raising the MLS and U.S. clubs standing in world Football, it also helps in getting in high-profile Players.

I also added a setup video on the bottom for the  “ideal” pre-game leagues and database setup. At least for me.

  • USL Expansion: Created a new division (USL 2 - 4th Tier).
  • Canadian Teams: Added top Canadian teams to the U.S. leagues (Championship).
  • MLS Title Playoffs: Added 2nd leg for quarter and semi-finals.
  • Pre-season Leagues Cup: Pre-season Leagues Cup now properly invites all winners from the 16 chosen divisions worldwide.
  • Lamar Hunt Cup: Rearranged some dates.
  • Club Finances: Rearranged finances of clubs.
  • Club Objectives: Added club objectives for clubs in the first 2 divisions.
  • Contracts and Transfers: Implemented up-to-date 24/25 contracts & transfers (excluding manually transferred players & coaches to MLS).
  • Transfer Values: Transfer & contract values have been rearranged accordingly to the players' CR & Reputation.
  • Player CA & PA: Rearranged some CA and PA of top MLS players.
  • Player Value Fix: Fixed a bug where player values would drop increasingly after a transfer.

Update 1.3 - 2024/10/14

  • Leagues Cup: Leagues Cup file no longer needed - Cup now implemented in main file.

note: Still working on removing some age-restricted B-clubs. Let me know if you find any! Enjoy!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 1.2 - 2024/10/13

  • Homegrown Update: Canadian and Puerto Rican players now count as homegrown.
  • Loan Fix: Player loans now last up to 1 year.
  • Homegrown Status Fix: Adjusted some homegrown status issues.
  • Youth Teams: Added U18 and U23 teams for top 3 divisions (more coming soon).
  • New Registration Rules (only for top 3 divisions): Max squad size 25, 3 loan players, 8 homegrown nation, 4 homegrown club, 8 foreign players, U19 players always eligible.
  • Club Finances: Boosted finances for select clubs and overall league power.
  • New Start Dates: Choose June, July, or August 2024.
  • Feeder Clubs: Removed max age for independent feeder clubs.

note: Still working on removing some age-restricted B-clubs. Let me know if you find any! Enjoy!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 1.1 - 2024/10/08

  • Transfer Windows: Rearranged due to complications in later seasons.
  • Season Break: Redesigned, as it didn’t occur in some saves.
  • Season Start Date: Set for June 2024 (not reflecting real-life results from 23/24).
  • Awards: Fixed bugs and added Player of the Month awards.
  • Regional Strength: Set to 1.0.
  • uploaded on steam

no limit, i took the German League approach. No player limit, no non-eu limit. Only limit is you can have 3 Loan Players at most. Sure test it out i need feedback on what to improve 🙂

@Junior_Kensh1 Perhaps an off-topic question... Assuming that at some point in history, the USSF allowed promotions and relegations, how many clubs, for example in the USL Championship, would meet the minimum requirements in terms of finances and facilities to be able to be promoted if their final position in the table allowed it? I've always had that doubt.

Implementing promotion and relegation would require significant changes and investments from many clubs. The USL has discussed the possibility of adopting this system, but it would involve a major restructuring. While specific data on which USL Championship clubs currently meet these requirements isn’t readily available, some clubs are known for their strong infrastructure and financial backing. Examples might include:

  • Louisville City FC: Known for its strong fan base and new stadium.
  • Phoenix Rising FC: Financially stable with good facilities.
  • Tampa Bay Rowdies: Established club with a solid infrastructure.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean sorry, but in this mod, i've adjusted the facilities and financial standards for USL Championship and USL League One clubs, so they won't struggle if promoted to MLS. For other aspects like fan support, morale, and club culture, I’ve kept the default settings from SI, as they usually get those right.

@Junior_Kensh1  Thanks for your work! The Leagues Cup file can be used independently of the rules database file or must they be used together?

they can all be used independently. Tho i would still recommend to use all 3 for the best experience since without one of the Cups the season feels pretty "empty".

Glad you're having fun! With the 99-player registration limit, I didn’t think U18/U19 exemptions were necessary (at least for the league), but appreciate the feedback!

Tried different registration rules, but it forced teams to get 1-2 stars and fill the rest with weaker players. The 99-player rule worked best for pushing clubs to be more aggressive in the transfer market.

Which version of this has the 99 player registration limit? Mine has 25 man.. and players under 18 have to be registered to be played in the league games. Playing with Phx Rising in USL Championship. I downloaded the database file off a steam and that’s the one I’ve been playing with so far. Is it different from the ones here?

The file in this post should definitely have the 99-player rule set. Maybe i got some files mixed up over on steam, thanks for the reminder.

And yes - the steam version one is only the 8 Leagues file. Here in this post you can find all 3 files (Leagues, Pre-Season Cup, World Champions League)

Hi! The updated file (1.1) is only the 8-tier-league database, isn't it? The leagues cup file hasn't been updated, has it?

It has the 99-player rule set for the MLS, not for the USL Championship. I loaded all 3 of these files onto my laptop to start a new database (the Leagues Cup + World Champions League don't load, only shows MLS for USA even though database is selected) and added 25+ players to my team in the USL Championship in the normal one and had the 25 man limit. I also noticed all the other US leagues aside from USL 1 only loan u18 and there's quite a few missing teams. I don't mind having a 25 man limit, I just like being able to have my youth players exempt because I like to build up. I'm enjoying it otherwise, closest so far to the Zealand USA database from FM22 I think it was.

hmm interesting this shouldnt happen. ill fix it for next the update thanks for the feedback.

when it comes to the teams missing, since i dont follow us soccer really i just went by the ingame reputation of a club and figured with over 200 teams in 8 leagues there should be something for everyone. I also got rid of 2nd teams

It is fixed, thank you!

I like the changes to the registration as its more in-line with what is more realistic.  I do wish Goalkeepers didn't have to be registered though since the squad size is so small

The value of players in the US are extremely low.  Teams will buy a player from Europe for 50+ mil and they will be valued around 500k in the MLS.
