I have seen all the photos at least once, but you only can see at generated males for so much until you start going crazy (and there are 90000 of them here)… where were you playing of I may ask? Or what nationality were your players? I ask to connect it to a specific picture pack to double check.

Yeah I get what you are saying. Caucasus was one of the first trainings I have done for the model and my picture selection and training settings were not the best. The same is Armenia. 

EastSlavic I think the photos itself are a lot better than Caucasus/Armenia because I have found a better training material. But I have generated them with wrong background color unfortunately (bright white) and the removal tool was not able to get rid of it completly so I suppose that is what you mean by “snow”? 

I will redo them at some point, at least the Caucasus/Armenia, as those are both lower quality, with wrong bg and low in quantity.

My thought process was it is better to release it now, so people can play and then update. Because otherwise I would have never released as I would never be happy with my oldest models and will be stuck in re-training cycle.

I understand you, I feel something similar myself. I also have my own group of 50,000 people. I took some of what was posted and did some of it myself. I update it periodically and delete old photos that I don't like. By the way, there is a good option for regeneration, this is the NCAA/schools website, there are a very lot of faces there! And where did you get such a huge number of faces?

You mean for training? I have collected them manually all around the world. Was very easy in UEFA countries, as there a tons of pictures in very good quality available on club or federation webs (thats why I want to redo Georgia and Armenia, now I should be able to find better pictures from them). But was such a pain for a non-football countries, that was the main showstopper for me on some packs, simply couldnt find good training material. There were a couple of official football federation webs in Asia and Aftica that I couldnt access, because my antivirus blocked that, saying they are a phishing/botnet web, so… yeah. 

And a lack of VRAM. If I had a better graphic card could have trained in better resolution…

It's a great program, but I don't like that the regents don't replace the faces online, immediately upon arrival. Is this option probably not feasible? And so, thank you brother for this miracle!

And I also wanted to ask. Can I add my own set of faces to the folders, or will it ruin everything?

Regarding automatically replacing the regens - you're right, this is unfortunately not possible. FM generates completely random players with random IDs each save game. So in one game you might have ID 123456789 for a black French-Cameroonian player, in another game you could have the same ID for a Korean player, and in your next game it might not get used at all... That's why I need you to do this whole export thing, so that the software gets to know what players you have and generates the most appropriate picture mapping for you.

The most "automatic" way is the FMRTE method, where you still need to run the software every time you want to assign faces, but you don't need to do the shortlist export part because FMRTE is able to "hack" into FM's memory and get all the information by itself. But this approach requires an immense time investment to program and must be updated after each FM patch, otherwise it would stop working. The classic shortlist export method is a bit more cumbersome, but it's guaranteed to work with FM24 until the end of time without my intervention.

You also can add your set of pictures to the folders, the software will automatically pick them up and use in parallel to mine. 

OK, thanks. And the names of my images can be any, or do I need to continue through the list? For example, in the Central Europe folder, the images end with PP1CentralEurope3106, should I prescribe the following photo PP1CentralEurope3107 or any other?

And I also wanted to know if the images are assigned in order or random?

You can name them anything, but don't use my naming system, otherwise it could get messy if I release more pictures for that folder. Other than that, you can use anything - it could be abc123.png.

Which folder to use is selected based on some factors like player nationality and ethnicity. The pictures from a selected folder are then taken at random, but it will try not to re-use already taken pictures until there are no unused options available.

One more question has matured. Can you provide a list of countries, which ones belong to which folder? Is it just that folders like Armenian, Iceland, and the like have only one race (nationality)? Is there a similar list?

You can check folder_config.json in %appdata%\com.cprrylow\ng_regens_manager\

The first “Ethnics” section shows you the basic nation-to-folder mapping, it works for most of the cases except:

Belgium uses “Netherland” and "France"

Switzerland uses “CentralEurope”, “France”, “Italia” at, I think, 60/30/10% rate

Those countries that have “LatinAmerica”, “Afrocaribbean” and “Brazil” dont use default mapping at all, instead they use a complex system where “Mestizo”, “IndigenousSA”, “Afrocaribbean”, “Portugal”, “Spain”, “Italia", “MixedRace” folders are used depending on nation/ethnicity code combination.

Also a lot of other countries have some additional logic attached to them. For example, ex-USSR countries (like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and so on) will use “EastSlavic” folder for ethnicity 0 players as those are most probably represent ethnical russian minorities in those countries. And so on.

I looked through folder_config and didn't understand, is the Baltics folder not involved anywhere?

So the photos from this folder are not used?

Hmmm you have actually found a bug! I somehow managed to distribute an old version of the config file where Latvia and Lithuania were assigned to EastSlavic… facepalm. I have pushed an update, if you restart the software it should pull the new config automatically so that LTU and LVA should now have Baltics as their def folder

And one more clarifying question. In which folder is it better to throw the faces of South Americans? As I understand it, there is more than one folder.

It depends on how they look on your pictures. “Mestizo” is a classical “latino” look, typical for Mexico. “IndigenousSA” is a typical Andean look of Peru-Bolivia-Chile region, but it is also used outside of that region. “Afrocaribbean” is very dark skinned, think Haiti or Jamaica but is also used heavily in equatorial countries like Panama, Colombia or Venezuela. “MixedRace” is mixed black/white, kind of “Neymar-look”.

For now it works like this, but I plan to revisit that whole region some day as I think I am able to train more diverse models. I just need to invest some time to understand ethnical structure better and then compare it to how FM generates players there.

I see, but where would you recommend to distribute the Argentines, Uruguayans and Paraguayans? To Spain?

Yeah, you can spread between "Spain" and "Italia" for now. I also use “Mestizo” folder for them I think for ethnicity code 1, this is not correct, but I dont have “Castizo” pack for that region yet…

Building on the foundations of others and taking cut out regens to a whole new level. I was very impressed with the quality of the images, the abundance by ethnicity and even more impressed with the program and its ability to make it really easy to see when you out of date and generate new config files.

Its people like you that make this FM community great. Thanks for all your hard work to make it pleasurable for us to all play.
