I have been working on the editor to create my unique setting. "Years to gain nationality" is one of the modifications.

I noticed that there are some "special cases" that can override this setting. Like players from specific African countries, they can gain nationality just by playing in Spain for 2 or 3 years instead of 10 years, as set in "Years to gain nationality."

Does anyone know how I create this kind of special case with FM editor? A guideline will be much appreciated.

Things like this would be quite interesting to know. There are instances with other cultures for example were birthed citizens (i.e. people born in the nation) can obtain dual citizenship, but those obtaining it as a second nationality can't.

The cases I've noticed are for Spain, South American/Central American nations only require 2 years to get Spanish nationality instead of the default number.

This exists in real life because UK teams used to loan players to Spain to try to get them permits to join in England.

Another example is in Brazil, portuguese speaking countries only require 1 year to gain citizenship.

I don't know if there's any way to influence this in the database but obviously we can adjust the non foreign relationships and treated as EU relationships but when you make nationalities non foreign it will make it so the players don't see a need to obtain the new nationality even after passing the naturalisation period.
