Here's a deep analysis of the FM26 Match Graphics thanks to https://www.youtube.com/@FM_Console

And here's the original video

One thing that should be noted by everyone is that for the most part the only thing that has changed is the graphics, the underlying Match Engine is the same.

Is this another Newgen vs Regen moment?

Do we need to start calling it "New Match Graphics" rather than "New Match Engine" ?

I feel a bit empty because I find what we saw in the video more than sobering. It's still the FM24 match engine. I've been annoyed for years by how FM just rambles on with its marketing talk and obscures reality.

Yeah, seeing some new animations, but not a new engine under the hood.

I've played since 1992, but it's been more and more laptop on the commute or around my young family over the years and it's not a game I'll sit at a desktop for hours for.

If a pretty overlay is all Unity gives us, while taking the game out of the reach of iGPUs, I shall happily move on. It's not as if FM24 wasn't boring and the match engine terrible, plus the absence of 25 has been a timely reminder of how many other things I can play when I have time.

Deeply concerned that this is merely a visual overhaul. In which case it's a reskinned FM2#…

Does this mean all the ad boards, 3D kits etc will work the same as in FM24?

Unclear

“Unity doesn’t automatically make modding easier. In fact, many Unity titles have fairly limited modding unless the devs deliberately support it. Pro Basketball Manager added Steam Workshop support, which kept its small community alive. But most Unity sims don’t have the depth of modding tools that FM fans expect. SI will need to make sure the pre-game editor, skinning and data packs are still fully supported, or there’ll be riots on the forums before you can say “regen haircuts”.”

They got the hard part done imho and now im sure there will be some polishing licensees added  and general improvements. Im sure they will update afterwards to till after the Jan Deadline. I will be happy to play with FM26 and support them while they make more improvements for FM27. What they did wasn't easy. And Miles stating it just wasn't fun says alot about what condition the game was in. He plays just like us, Im willing to cut them some slack. And we should be supporting the women's game. Over here in the USA the womens game is more supported then the mens. Not to mention there are girls who play and love this game, for them alone as fellow gamers we should be standing by them. Not to mention its a whiole new market for the game which is more important for down the road, the more markets this game reaches hte more we will geet in the long run.. Yeah FM26 might not be exactly what we hoped for but damn be HAPPY it wasnt to that long ago that we wern't even sure we would get it. So lets give them some slack and back them like we back our teams, at least thats what I plan to do. I can't wait and am as excited as I was since I started playing way back in 2016. Thats decently far back for a US Person.
