Submissions paused due to the release of FM26

Just to set expectations and avoid disappointment editing will definitely not be opened on November 4th. November 11th is a more realistic target date.

This is both personal and technical.

(1) I'm in Australia for a wedding this weekend and then will be jet lagged.

(2) It's taking longer than expected to get all the data out and site updated this year with the introduction of women's.

(3) They keep updating the game and it's not clear what will be updated after November 4th.

Just to let everyone know that submissions have been paused due to the release of FM26.

You can still download of course and it should be up to date since there's not alot of transfer activity around the world.

Submissions will of course be returning.

The reason for pausing is because
 

1. We can't start updating FM26 yet because it takes time to extract the data and the data is liable to change before full release on November 4th
2. If we keep submissions open people get confused and make submissions to our FM24 update trying to fix errors in FM26, this creates alot of extra work for moderators.
3. It's nice for everyone involved to have a break and just enjoy the new game.

I realise this might frustrate some people who are not yet playing FM26 and want to keep updating FM24. This will be possible. Please just have some patience it's just 2 weeks and pausing is going to make things so much easier to update the site.

And of course a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all the people who have contributed, over the years 6,620 people have contributed so far and we hit our 1 millionth submission a few months ago, which is insane!

You guys do a great job here honestly.

Were you able to resolve the issue with the recent updates before the break? I'm referring to the issue reported yesterday. Created players remain with their old club when they change clubs.

 Thanks for all the work you've put into keeping FM24 as up-to-date as possible for two years!

Is there any likelyhood that you would consider re-opening this FM24 update with the new players & ability edits considering how bad FM26 is please? Ive played FM26 for 12 hours and its near on impossible to carry on with it due to the vast amount of bugs and the diabolical UI!

Just wanted to ask the question 🙂

We are 100% reopening but we just need to update the site to handle two games at once + women's.

Trying to keep it open while doing that will just make the whole process slower and more bug prone, so please just have some patience for 2 weeks.

Of the top of my head i'm not sure there's a single transfer window in the world open right now, so if there wasn't something submitted last week I can't imagine what the rush would be this week?

Of course if there is some really pressing issue please let me know and I can get it updated in our update.

Actually fm 26 is really bad. I will play fm 24 a least one more year.. 

I think many feel that way which is why we're going to keep updating FM24 with our FM24 Update 🙂

Yeah, FM24 will definitely need to be updated with the current state of FM26 (beta) into the foreseeable future. Personally, I don't see myself getting acclimated with FM26's UI no matter the amount of updates throughout the cycle. But this isn't an FM26 review thread, I just want to say thank you very much for the team's continual efforts!

One question, did SI hardcode the game's dates? As in, is it not possible to start a save in August 1970 or August 2025? Thank you.

Yes this is the biggest issue with keeping FM24 alive, and I would pay good money for anyone who can fix it.

As far as i'm aware nobody has ever fixed it and people playing CM01/02 still start in 2001.

Will it be possible to update FM 24 with the database from FM 26? I mean, will the players in the update have the same attributes, CA and CP as in FM 26? That woud be awesome.

@Footygamer Thank you! Do we understand when the cut off date was for the main database , I like to cross reference any updates and be prepared to submit early when we go live?

Also, are there any new roles we need to add this year? I recall we had to add Set Piece Coach to the update last yr?

just wondering how to make my payment for the fm24 data update. the payment was blocked this morning and when im going to make payment its only offering me the £10 option, however when i took the data update i took the option of it been £5 throughout. the payment blocked this morning was for £5 so just unsure how to make the payment for £5 and not the £10 thats on the payment screen 

On the first question - the Data Update was paused on 21st October 2025 (I'm pretty sure), so I would take that as a cut-off date. Anything from that date onwards is worth a lookup and re-submission.

I have been making a list of some of the obscure changes I’m aware of so can update early next weeks

that worries me too, will the update for FM24 even continue?

I can confirm that, 100%, the updates will continue for Football Manager 2024. In fact, part of the reason for the pause is to allow for all of the data-flows to be set up so that updating a player enables that submission to flow into both the FM 24 and FM 26 updates, seamlessly.

Whether or not the FM 26 ratings of players (i.e. CA/PA) will be synchronised ‘back in’ to the FM 24 update, I am unsure at this stage. But the staff are discussing the best method to ensure there is a single, consolidated, updated dataset that is then made available to players of both FM 26 and FM 24.

Please hold off on resubmission i'll run some automated checks to find things that SI missed.

Sorry I was hoping i'd get that done today but it seems I likely won't now.

@Footygamer I’m going to assume there is no way to ‘activate’ old persons in the new file? I was looking to see if Martin O’Neill would be active in FM26.

Stanislav Tecl, the data cannot be edited because it is not in the 26th edition, but it is in the game and can be edited normally in the editor.

There's currently an issue with thousands of non players appearing as unemployed when they shouldn't be e.g. Omar Berrada

I'm working on a fix. Please don't submit these as changes.

Good morning, I have downloaded the latest FM26 Update but it won't load the database into the game. Every time I try and load a new game the fmf has an error ! in the data. I have followed all of the instructions (placed the FMF in the folder), paid the £10 subscription but nothing seems to work with the new update.
