This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official updates come out.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2026 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These fixes are all fully save-game compatible.
Follow the below instructions to install this version of this file.
Once you download this file, you’ll see these folders after extracting the ZIP:

STEP 1.
If you are playing an FM23 or FM24 save in FM26, then this fix needs to be also installed in the folders in the below image IN ADDITION TO THOSE INDICATED BELOW the image:

You have to click “show packaged contents” on the fm.app and game_plugin.bundle folders. This basically means that you need to right-click (or Control + click) on fm.app (or game_plugin.bundle) and choose Show Package Contents that lets you open up the folders inside the app icon.
Here’s how to do it on Mac:
1. Open Finder.
2. Press Command + Shift + G to bring up “Go to Folder.”
3. Copy and paste this path, then hit Enter:
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 26/fm.app/Contents/PlugIns/game_plugin.bundle/Contents/Resources/shared/data/database/db/2600
Once you’re in both the db/2600 and db/2620 folders, that’s where you drop the real name fix files and don’t forget to restart FM afterwards so the changes take effect.

Follow these steps to correctly place the editor data folder for Football Manager 26 on macOS.
1. Open Finder.
2. Press Command (⌘) + Shift + G to open the Go to Folder window.
3. Copy and paste the following path, then press Enter:
~/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 26/
4. If you don’t see an editor data folder, create one manually.
The folder name must be exactly:
editor data
(all lowercase, with a space)
5. Make sure the editor data folder is inside the Football Manager 26 directory. Not in Documents, Public, or anywhere else.
6. Place the downloaded .fmf files (for example, from the Real Name Fix or other mods) into this editor data folder.
7. Restart Football Manager 26, and when starting a new game, ensure the files are ticked/selected under Database → Editor Data Files.

I keep getting an error when updates apply on Mac- fm” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Bin.
Does anyone know the fix for this as it has happened a few times and needed to reinstall?
Looked online and there isn't any fix that seems to have worked (or I've not done it right)

A user mentioned that this should be changed in the first place - and most people will use Tottenham rather than Spurs, so I don't intend to change it back.

Excellent spot with the first one. The one whose UID ends in 3 is now an extinct competition, and its function is fulfilled by the one whose UID ends in 5. Will be fixed in the next update.
As for the other two, it's in the title, so I'm leaving Premier League in there to be safe. They're extinct competitions too anyway.
I was informed many years back by a Spaniard, with some vehemence, that Racing is the correct short name for this team - and I therefore don't intend to change it.
I don't think anyone else has come forward with changes to women's club names tbh. If I were you, I'd just do things bit by bit and they'll be done whenever they're done, otherwise you'll end up burning yourself out - been there, done that.
Not a mac user - but it seems like you might have mucked the installation up. Without screenshots of your folder structure, there's not much I can do 😕 Even with screenshots, given I'm not a Mac user, I'm a bit limited in how I can assist tbh.

Here’s a short guide to fix the “fm is damaged and can’t be opened” message on your Mac:
1. Go to Apple menu → System Settings → Privacy & Security.
2. Scroll down to the Security section.
3. You’ll see a message saying “‘fm’ was blocked to protect your Mac.”
4. Click “Open Anyway.”
5. When prompted, click Open, then enter your administrator username and password to allow it.
