This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official updates come out.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2026 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These fixes are all fully save-game compatible.
Follow the below instructions to install this version of this file.
Once you download this file, you’ll see these folders after extracting the ZIP:

If you are playing an FM23 or FM24 save in FM26, then this fix needs to be also installed in the folders in the below image IN ADDITION TO THOSE INDICATED BELOW the image:

You have to click “show packaged contents” on the fm.app and game_plugin.bundle folders. This basically means that you need to right-click (or Control + click) on fm.app (or game_plugin.bundle) and choose Show Package Contents that lets you open up the folders inside the app icon.
Here’s how to do it on Mac:
1. Open Finder.
2. Press Command + Shift + G to bring up “Go to Folder.”
3. Copy and paste this path, then hit Enter:
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 26/fm.app/Contents/PlugIns/game_plugin.bundle/Contents/Resources/shared/data/database/db/2600
Once you’re in both the db/2600 and db/2620 folders, that’s where you drop the real name fix files and don’t forget to restart FM afterwards so the changes take effect.

6. Place the downloaded .fmf files (for example, from the Real Name Fix or other mods) into this editor data folder.

Thanks for all the additions - I hope to find the time to add them all to the next release. @wfm18, I'm away from my PC and can't incorporate the Ajax staff data changes since I've made some edits myself too…

Did you download yesterday's public beta perchance?
Did you start a new game, or have you continued using a save started in the beta?
Yes, there's a workaround in the very first post for this.

Hi, the file from 4-11. I overwrote the three folders and the documents folder again. Now it seems to be fixed. It just changed the look of my manager, but never mind. Thanks.

Hi Mons, sorry if this is a stupid question. I’ve started a new save on the release version of the game and applied your fix. All works great! What do I need to do every time they bring out an update? Do I just need to download the latest version of your fix and reapply or do I need to do the workaround everytime?
R3C
I did continue a save I create on day 3, but it was working ok before change to public_beta version.
wfm18
With that switch you need to reapply the name fix again; Steam downloads all the files that are missing as well with making such a change of version or new update.

@mons, well. Here goes the Ajax staff pack 😛
R3C
I did that, redownload the game again and apply the fix on 2600 folder.

The above folders are not there for me. They are here: / Users / username / Library / Application Support / Steam / steamapps / common / Football Manager 26 Editor / shared / data / database / db / 2600
I have followed the instructions given but the name fix is not working.
If I open up the pre-game editor then the names are changed but when running the game they do not work.
Any help and advice would be appreciated.
mons
This'll be added in future releases 👍
The installation instructions should explain how the fm.app and game_plugin.bundle folders are opened.
You're installing the fix in the editor's folders, which is why they show and not in the game.
mons
New version of the fix is now available. It's added a whole shedload of female competitions (thanks especially to @Carsie for this) and the usual tweaks of competition and award names. Thanks also to @darimuler for his submission of 3 letter name fixes, which should help the in-game scoreboard to look much better now.
As always, anything you feel should be added and/or changed and/or removed, just let us know in here 🙂

mons the Legend!! Time to start a proper career… I'm off!! Thank you buddy. For all these years!!
Marc Seymour
When I right click and show package contents on fm I do not have the files. I've attached what I have when I open it.
I've tried uninstalling the game and when I reinstall they are not there.
mons
It'll be there - the game cannot run without that folder!
Since I'm not a Mac user, I have no idea how to sort it out for you, beyond referring you to the installation instructions, which where provided to me by a Mac user.
saware
Think this may have been my issue as redownloaded and started a new test game, which seemed to work ok after switching to the beta.
Digio88
Napoli still Parthenope, please fix the name of the Italian champions.

Hey @mons did you see this? Just want to know what I need to do once I download the latest update. Thanks man
pezzahawkins
After all these years and you still do it! Thank you, Mons!

Hey I'm on Mac. The copy paste doesn't work for me but I figured it out. The path you have is correct but you need to do it manually. When you get to Football Manager 26 file, you get FM26 (which is the game) and core.txt. If you right click on FM26 you have "Show Package Contents" which continues the pathway. When you get to the Plugins file, you will have game_plugin.bundle and need to right click once again to show package contents. Afterwards everything else is normal. Let me know if you have any questions.
On another separate note, is it normal for every team name to be fixed except Napoli men. Napoli women is fixed but the men's name is the same.
Lewis Bailey
This does not change Napoli.
mons
It's fixed on my game 😕
Marc Seymour
Thank you so much - this has worked!

Thanks to mons and everyone else who has contributed to this file for all your hard work - and probably more importantly for having the patience of a saint! 👍

Quick question, if it was already answered and I missed it in the forum, I deeply apologize.
When I have a save going on from version 1.0, will updating mess with the save? If no, do I proceed as when installing for the first time?
Also, thanks a ton for your work. I really, really appreciate it.
mons
No, it won't mess up your existing save. Install it and keep playing 🙂
diogosantos7
Same for me..
I followed the instructions as always but this time in my save (not new) there are incorret names like BRG, TND, VTSC and Parthenope. Any fix for this?
Thanks for the work.
Mark Uwe
Same here.
In a previous version, Napoli was correct, but now something seems to be missing.
DarrenToon
sorry to be a pain again guys, but I'm still having problem with the Spanish leagues, all seem ok apart from Primera (3rd tier), the 2 leagues themselves seem to be correct but the overall one seems to be playing up, I've attached screenshots to help, is this a SI fault or can this be fixed by us lot on here?
TheFManager_
It's still showing up wrong for me. Do I need to delete something?
Simouin
3 letters name doesn't work for some teams.
Edit: if i change language in English it works, in italian no.
