This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official updates come out.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2026 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These fixes are all fully save-game compatible.
Follow the below instructions to install this version of this file.
Once you download this file, you’ll see these folders after extracting the ZIP:

STEP 1.
If you are playing an FM23 or FM24 save in FM26, then this fix needs to be also installed in the folders in the below image IN ADDITION TO THOSE INDICATED BELOW the image:

You have to click “show packaged contents” on the fm.app and game_plugin.bundle folders. This basically means that you need to right-click (or Control + click) on fm.app (or game_plugin.bundle) and choose Show Package Contents that lets you open up the folders inside the app icon.
Here’s how to do it on Mac:
1. Open Finder.
2. Press Command + Shift + G to bring up “Go to Folder.”
3. Copy and paste this path, then hit Enter:
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 26/fm.app/Contents/PlugIns/game_plugin.bundle/Contents/Resources/shared/data/database/db/2600
Once you’re in both the db/2600 and db/2620 folders, that’s where you drop the real name fix files and don’t forget to restart FM afterwards so the changes take effect.

Follow these steps to correctly place the editor data folder for Football Manager 26 on macOS.
1. Open Finder.
2. Press Command (⌘) + Shift + G to open the Go to Folder window.
3. Copy and paste the following path, then press Enter:
~/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 26/
4. If you don’t see an editor data folder, create one manually.
The folder name must be exactly:
editor data
(all lowercase, with a space)
5. Make sure the editor data folder is inside the Football Manager 26 directory. Not in Documents, Public, or anywhere else.
6. Place the downloaded .fmf files (for example, from the Real Name Fix or other mods) into this editor data folder.
7. Restart Football Manager 26, and when starting a new game, ensure the files are ticked/selected under Database → Editor Data Files.

There are specific instructions in there on how to open the fm.app folder - did they not work?

This fix works. There's a screenshot at the top of the thread showing Napoli being displayed correctly. It'll inevitably be something you've done wrong which leads to it not working 😕
Did you start your career with the beta version of this fix, and continue it once v1.0 was released? If yes, then you need to apply the workaround in the first post of this thread.

I recommend adding the db folder to the sidebar once you get there for whenever this is updated or you have to reapply it due to SI updates.

The game has many defects, but it's you who hasn't installed the fix properly. Same as the last two years, going by your post history.
Read the installation instructions, and follow them carefully. If it still doesn't work, provide more info. “still not working” is nowhere near enough for me to be able to help you. You don't go to the doctor, say “I have pain” and expect him to pinpoint what's wrong with you, do you?

Tried renaming Dutch U19 leagues to be more consistent, some of these are also extinct. Also renamed some of O18 to O19 as we don't have O18 teams in FM.

It does, when installed properly. Every single screenshot I've seen so far of Mac users for whom it wasn't working, hadn't installed it right.
Do provide screenshots of your folders, because there's only so much I can tell via just “it doesn't work.”

Yours is fine. However, how can you tell it isn't working? Is it for a new career, or for one which was started with a prior version of the fix installed?

I do realize that the Logos issue has nothing to do with this download.
I'm not trying to get a fix for it in thi s thread. but I did feel like it's interesting (and it might be correlated) that the same ID's are not being corrected in both the name fix and the logos not showing.
The issue is that TND should be “Tondela" and the other one is that “Liga Portugal” should be corrected as well. I showed the 2 screenshots because the league's name is correct in one of them, and the other one it's not.

Turkish teams' names are written in lowercase letters, while European teams' names are written in uppercase letters in scoreboards. The three-letter abbreviations are incorrect. Is this related to the game language? Is there a solution?

I'm a bit stumped tbh. Can I just be sure that the Club Name Changes file (hidden just out of view) is ticked?
Sorry, it wasn't very clear what you were saying originally. It seems to me that the league name is showing the short name in one page (i.e. the one without the sponsor's name) and the long name in another (i.e. the one including the sponsor's name), so I'm not sure there's much wrong there. I'll check the Tondela issue too, to be safe.
Can you give me a screenshot as to which pages this is showing in? An upcoming fix should ensure the 3-letter names are consistently in capital letters, whenever feasible.
Take it up with the Italian data researcher, it's not something that's been edited via this file…

I can't find the right folder. On my Mac, the “Football Manager 26” folder only contains the ‘core’ txt file and a direct link to the game. So I can't get to the “contents” folder and so on. I couldn't find the other folders using the search function either. Can anyone help me?

This doesn't work for Napoli on the select team section when starting a new save as it still shows Parthenope but when you are in the game it works. Up to you guys if u wanna fix that just letting you know.

I'm playing on saves moved over from FM 24. This has fixed some of the names i.e fixed AS Roma. But still fake names for Monza, Napoli, Lecce, Real Betis, Real Sociedad and Osasuna.
If i start a new game everything works fine. But i have THREE saves going i've transferred over from FM 24 so really need this to work! I've followed the instructions by the book, copied into all the other folders like requested.
Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers!
