This NewGen Facepack contains 227,000 new faces for newgens in Football Manager.
Newgens (sometimes called regens) are the new players that the game generates, primarily for youth intakes, but sometimes also to fill teams in playable leagues, new backroom staff and other people like members of the press and agents.
By default the faces associated with these players are awful. This pack fixes that.
The pack currently consists of:
~193,000 male player pictures across 60 different ethnicity categories
~16000 female player pictures - this base pack is still under development, not every nation/ethnicity is covered yet.
~18000 staff pictures for both male and female.
FM26/FM24 Windows, Mac and SteamDeck/Linux Instructions
This is the main installation method that allows you to use the pack in its full glory.

On Mac this now requires no SIP deactivation and no sudo and no other workarounds.
Lazy Install using the Bundle Replacement Method
If you are lazy and don't care too much about the faces follow these instructions. However be warned that this method is severely limited and only has 7000 male and 7000 female picture total, so you may see repeat faces on multiple profiles or incorrectly assigned skin colours and ethnicities.
This method should only be considered as a demo version of the actual full pack.
- Download “ui-newgen-portraits_assets_all.bundle”
- Place the file here:
- Windows: \Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 26\fm_Data\StreamingAssets\aa\StandaloneWindows64\ui-newgen-portraits_assets_all.bundle'
- Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 26/fm.app/Contents/Resources/Data/StreamingAssets/aa/StandaloneOSX/ui-newgen-portraits_assets_all.bundle
- In FM26 > Preferences > Detailed > Audio & Visual.
- Check ✅ Show pictures of players (and staff) who have been generated by the game
- Check ✅ Use pre-generated pictures of players (and staff) rather than dynamically-generated images
- Restart Football Manager 26

Hi,
When using the NG Regen Manager tool, all nations are correctly being assigned regen faces except for Algeria, who still have the default in-game faces. Is this a known issue? Thanks

im using this and its good, sanyway that it can change the manager picture to our own picture or not also if i get a picture of a player from the net and put it into the ng regens folder will it still change the face from the blackshade face to the photo i put into the ng reg folder

Hi,
No, it should not be like that. Both male and female Algeria pictures are being pulled from their respective Maghreb folders, just like f.e. Marocco or Libya. Are you using any custom DB that could have for some reason change Algeria's ID or something?

Hi, regarding the manager picture, as far as Im aware SI blocks managerial picture assignment for some reason.
Regarding your second question - blackshade are real players who miss a photo, so they are not being found automatically. But you can use the “Assign pictures manually” page to manually assign him any desired picture, you only need to know his ID. You can make FM show you the IDs of players or staff by turning on the respecitive option in the Preference menu.

Hi, thanks for your pack. I am using the full install, downloaded the facepack and installer and worked first time I loaded, but every time I open FM26 since the game crashes on the loading screen and just get the error message fm.exe stopped working. Have tried deleting and redownloading the pack and same issue. I have the pack in the Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 26\graphics\ location. Anyone else having similar issue?

Hi, it is an FM bug (plus missing caching feature) where loading takes ages. Just let it run and it will load. I have an idea how I can make things a bit better, but for now simply waiting will fix it.
UPDATE: I have added a news item to the app, but I will duplicate it here. After you generate a config, go to your NG_Regens picture folder and rename the "config.xml" file to "_config.xml". You will need to temporarily rename it back to "config.xml" each time you perform a new memory scan. I hope this helps, and I will automate it as soon as possible.

How long does the memory scan take? After I click on Start Memory Scan, the loading circle appears, but it takes forever.

Hi, something on your PC blocks the software from having write access to the NG_Regens picture folder, so it cant write the config files there. There were another 2 or 3 users with the same problem on the previous page of this thread, you may check with them how they have fixed it.

Hello. I love this tool and fair play for creating it. Like others though, it just does not work fot me. I followed each step, i have both visual options in my preferences ticked. Nothing went wrong with the tool, no errors,etc. Everything worked flawless until i restart the game and nothing changes 😔
I even uninstalled and re-installed the game and did it multiple times. I just csnt get the newgen faces to load.

Hi, if you go with the tool you do not need to make any changes to the visual options. You only need to make those changes if you do the Bundle install method. For the tool method you want default settings, like this:
Also make sure your NG_Regens picture folder is inside of your FM26 Graphics folder, so \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 26\graphics\NG_Regens\

Thanks for the prompt reply. Yeah so i did everything you suggested. I have the same settings in the game and the NG tegens folder is inside yhe graphics foldet but alas still no luck. I'll post some screenshots in a bit. Thanks for the reply though. Shame i cant get it to work. Really excellent tool otherwise

No, it is either or unfortunatelly. Turning on the lazy/bundle method will require you to switch all “picture sources” at once. I am currently trying to figure out memory patterns for agents/press so they can be assigned via the tool just like it does it for FM24, but it is rather hard to tshoot because the game wont show you their IDs…

Hmmm there is something wierdly wrong with your game for some reason, black silhouettes are only supposed to be on real players who miss picture, not on newgens… And default SI face on a newgen means the game hasnt even tried to load a face from the pack.
The only idea I have is that something go stuck when you were switching between the bundle method and the tool, but since you have already reinstalled the game I honestly not sure what else could that be…

hi ive installed regens in the graphics folder. when i go into the regen installer i go through it ok. gets to memory scan and completes then i generate it. but when i go into my saved game i.e. under 18 they are still not human faces. any ideas on what im doing wrong? cheers

Hi, are you sure those are regens? Depending on what is the current date of your save not everyon ein U18 is automatically a regen. What portrait do they have - black silhouette or a default SI face?
