This NewGen Facepack contains 227,000 new faces for newgens in Football Manager.
Newgens (sometimes called regens) are the new players that the game generates, primarily for youth intakes, but sometimes also to fill teams in playable leagues, new backroom staff and other people like members of the press and agents.
By default the faces associated with these players are awful. This pack fixes that.
The pack currently consists of:
~193,000 male player pictures across 60 different ethnicity categories
~16000 female player pictures - this base pack is still under development, not every nation/ethnicity is covered yet.
~18000 staff pictures for both male and female.
FM26/FM24 Windows, Mac and SteamDeck/Linux Instructions
This is the main installation method that allows you to use the pack in its full glory.

On Mac this now requires no SIP deactivation and no sudo and no other workarounds.
Lazy Install using the Bundle Replacement Method
If you are lazy and don't care too much about the faces follow these instructions. However be warned that this method is severely limited and only has 7000 male and 7000 female picture total, so you may see repeat faces on multiple profiles or incorrectly assigned skin colours and ethnicities.
This method should only be considered as a demo version of the actual full pack.
- Download “ui-newgen-portraits_assets_all.bundle”
- Place the file here:
- Windows: \Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 26\fm_Data\StreamingAssets\aa\StandaloneWindows64\ui-newgen-portraits_assets_all.bundle'
- Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 26/fm.app/Contents/Resources/Data/StreamingAssets/aa/StandaloneOSX/ui-newgen-portraits_assets_all.bundle
- In FM26 > Preferences > Detailed > Audio & Visual.
- Check ✅ Show pictures of players (and staff) who have been generated by the game
- Check ✅ Use pre-generated pictures of players (and staff) rather than dynamically-generated images
- Restart Football Manager 26

Hello,
I use NG_Regens Manager 26 for male and female player and staff images. Regens are recognized and the images are assigned correctly in Config.xml. In the game, the images for male staff and players as well as female players are displayed. However, this is not the case for female staff. Since I have checked the Config.xml file, I would say that the Regens Manager is working and that the problem is more likely to be with FM26. Are you familiar with this problem and is there a workaround for it?

Hello everybody!
I used the “lazy installation” on Mac.
It works properly on my main save, but when I start a new save again the “black faces” show up and it's like I don't have the file anymore.
I have tried to reinstall it, but nothing changes.
Does it happen to anyone else on Mac?

Hi, i have a black american player that is always assigned a white newgen face but i cant just replace one face and preserve all the others, is there a way to do this ? if i go to generate i would have to do every one individually. This screenshot below is done by Preserve, assign pictures manually, then id but when i press Yes Reassign it wont do it, it just stays on that screen and i have to exit out of the screen to start again.

Hi, my GPU is currently overloaded with image generation for the next picture pack, I will check later this week. It def worked on FM24, FM26 I must admit I havent played much, need to check. But you are the first one mentioning that.

Hi, if this is something drastic like white/black mismatch that means there is something wrong going on, probably ID Recycling. So that should not happen in the first place.
But to answer your question, you are doing it absolutely correctly with manual remap, I think you are hitting a rare GUI bug that happens on some resolution where buttons get “stuck” for some reason. You can pres “Tab” key on your keyboard until the “Yes, Re-assign” button is visually selected and press Enter afterwards. That should re-map the player.

Hi, I must admit you are the first one mentioning the game showing you newgen face for your manager. You manager does get find as a staff and therfore gets a face assigned, but it was always ignored by the game, thats why I never bothered filtered it out… I will check on the latest fm patch and get back to you

Hi, just to be sure, NG_Regens folder directly has ethnicity subfolders, so f.e. \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 26\graphics\NG_Regens\Afroamerican?

Yes, that is correct. My theory is something (maybe a Defender or another AV) is blocking the software from accessing the folder. The software needs read/write access to the NG_Regens folder to function correctly. You can probably check inside of your AV or under Windows Security → Protection history if you see something about access to the folder being denied

Yes, since the bundle is so limited in what it can do I only put “big” nations there as that will fit with most players. I will update it when I will tweak UK and Germany in about an update or two, for now I train on “smaller” nations and the bundle simply doesnt support Georgia or Kazakhstan packs…

Is it possible to add more faces to an existing save? That is, once the women's facepack is fleshed out, can I add those faces to a current save, or must I start anew to have them show?

To me, both of those errors look like access issues. Unfortunately, I don’t know your systems well enough to provide more detailed advice. The only thing that comes to mind right now is to try right-clicking the icon and running it as administrator.

If players are missing faces completely (currently this affects only female newgen players from SEA, South Asia, and Middle Eastern countries), then as soon as I release packs for them, you will be able to perform additional picture assignments, and they will receive faces in your existing save.
For players who already have faces assigned from a pack but are missing a more specific pack (e.g. female South America): when I release new packs, the currently assigned faces will be kept, and only newly generated players will receive faces from the newer, more specific packs.

ja piernicze, never saw that one before… So you made a generation, reloaded the game and now get that for newgens or even for real players? You have unpacked the main pack into the FM graphics folder, so \graphics\NG_Regens\ right?

Hi all, long shot this one - Im playing on linux (CachyOS), ive got the app working through WINE and all setup ok. But it fails on the memoryscan part. Not surprised by this at all, but thought i would ask if anyone might know how to rectify it? Worth a shot eh

Yeah memory scan fails because it expects Windows process structure which on Linux looks completely different.
The only solution for FM26 I can think of right now (for FM24 you can use shortlist export) would be the VM workaround - I have described the idea in the Mac guide here https://ngregens.org/fm26macvmpreparation You would have to adapt it to Linux (but since you are on Arch I guess you know what you are doing) and use Windows VM instead of Mac.

I have tried this for my current save, and it works very well (though I don't think the PA filter works completely)
But if I start a new game, then I get an error after the game initializes and is set up.
Now to debug the problem, I wanted to remove the config file made by this app, but it seems that there is a config made for each subfolder? … that is a bit of a nightmare to clean up.
Is there a way to remove these completely without having to go through 58 folders and deleting a file in each?
