Isn't there a more normal image, one that doesn't look like Thanos' skin? The source has also been cutout to look like a cartoon character, with very smooth skin

Looks to me like you definitely also reduced the saturation and/or hue, though. Your cut looks slightly less vibrant than the source image, and adding contrast shouldn't affect it that way. Perhaps you selected auto-tone instead of auto-contrast by mistake?
