This file will need to be re-applied if/when official patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are automatically re-installed by Steam when official updates come out.
Club names are only changed if you apply the editor data files before starting a new game. For a workaround if you've already started a new save-game, then please read the opening post of this thread.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 2026 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These fixes are all fully save-game compatible.
Follow the below instructions to install this version of this file.
Once you download this file, you’ll see these folders after extracting the ZIP:

STEP 1.
If you are playing an FM23 or FM24 save in FM26, then this fix needs to be also installed in the folders in the below image IN ADDITION TO THOSE INDICATED BELOW the image:

You have to click “show packaged contents” on the fm.app and game_plugin.bundle folders. This basically means that you need to right-click (or Control + click) on fm.app (or game_plugin.bundle) and choose Show Package Contents that lets you open up the folders inside the app icon.
Here’s how to do it on Mac:
1. Open Finder.
2. Press Command + Shift + G to bring up “Go to Folder.”
3. Copy and paste this path, then hit Enter:
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 26/fm.app/Contents/PlugIns/game_plugin.bundle/Contents/Resources/shared/data/database/db/2600
Once you’re in both the db/2600 and db/2620 folders, that’s where you drop the real name fix files and don’t forget to restart FM afterwards so the changes take effect.

Follow these steps to correctly place the editor data folder for Football Manager 26 on macOS.
1. Open Finder.
2. Press Command (⌘) + Shift + G to open the Go to Folder window.
3. Copy and paste the following path, then press Enter:
~/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 26/
4. If you don’t see an editor data folder, create one manually.
The folder name must be exactly:
editor data
(all lowercase, with a space)
5. Make sure the editor data folder is inside the Football Manager 26 directory. Not in Documents, Public, or anywhere else.
6. Place the downloaded .fmf files (for example, from the Real Name Fix or other mods) into this editor data folder.
7. Restart Football Manager 26, and when starting a new game, ensure the files are ticked/selected under Database → Editor Data Files.

I did all the steps before starting my save. When I started it, everything was fine, the German call-ups, the clubs name, the Brazilians clubs names, etc. Once I have updated to the last fix, Brazilian club names appear again with 3 capital letters. How is that possible?

In the last few days (Monday, I think), an official update was released. A new version of this fix was subsequently released, and needs to be applied again. It's always the case that this fix needs to be re-applied after a new official update is released, which may re-introduce files that are removed when installing this fix.

Hi guys!! In my current career, with the new update 19 Jan 2026 16:45:07, I can no longer get the club names to display correctly. In Portugal, I have BRG for Braga and VTSC for Guimaraes. Can someone help me, please?

Regarding the Ajax staff file in the future:
As per Februari 1st 2026, Jordi Cruijff will be the new Technical Director of Ajax replacing Alex Kroes. Cruijff has signed a contract until June 30th 2028.

Hmm I'm not able to find him anywhere in the game or in the editor actually. Maybe SI will put him in the database for the winter update, but I guess he won't show up as a staff member anyway because of the licensing thingy

Everything works besides the German national team. Its still filled with regens, instead of real players

a) the folders in this screenshot aren't exactly as those shown in the main post. Reinstall again, following all the steps carefully.
b) as per the FAQ, If you are in the middle of a save-game, national teams will only be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not immediately. Just wait till the next call-up window.

i think i found the reason, it was a windows problem. For some reason when you copy and paste them into the folder it doesnt actually overwrite the folder. So (at lest for me) i had to delete the folders first then copy the others in.

I reinstalled everything and added the real name fix files, new savegame.
I just have the metallic logos and faces pack in the graphic folder.
