Noticed we dident have a NBA thread like NFL and NHL. Dunno whether its because no one else watches it or not but thought I would do one seeing as there was some interesting news today.

Today ex NBA Player Penny Hardaway and Denver Bronco's QB Peyton Manning have joined Justin Timberlake in a small group to buy part of Memphis Grizzlies

I try to watch games when I can, can't say I really back a team these days though. Used to favour the 76ers during the Iverson days but once he left I kinda lost interest in a side.

I thought both Celtics and Heat looked improved from last year, going to be a really good year.

Smirked at seeing Lakers lose too.

The Mavs shot 33,3% from downtown
The Lakers shot 38,7% from...the line. Howard went 3-14 and Hill 1-6

HACK-A-SHAQ BABY

I'll be looking at Denver-Philadelphia tonight, Iggy returns with his new high-powered offense.

They will surely cost more than your trp

Last night headlines :

- The Lakers go 0-2. Howard did his part, including 33pts with a remarkable 15/19 at the line, but the combination of Lilliard (ROTY candidate), Batum, Matthews and Aldrige was too much for the Lakers defense to handle.

- Harden brings it for his first game with the Rockets : 37pts at 56%, 12 assists, 6 rebonds, 4 steals, 1 block for 4 turnovers and a +18 differencial. He led the Rockets to a come-back win over the Pistons with the help of Lin (+23 differencial) and Delfino (5/6 from downtown)

- Iguodala missed his return in Philadelphia as the Sixers prevaled against the Nuggets in a slug-fest, Spencer Hawes made the difference for the Sixers

- Led by 1st pick Anthony Davis and point-guard Vasquez, the New Orleans Hornets almost got the better of the favored Spurs, who sparkled a 9-0 run late in the fourth to grab the win.

ESPN and the NBA finally agreed on a deal for the UK. 3 games per week, which is good, still could improve though.

Watched a little Summer League earlier, Oladipo is going to go far. I think he's the strongest player from the draft.

Summer League performances are meaningless and shouldn't be used to make judgements on how a player will do in the league but yeah he'll have a very good career.

Orlando is trying him at the point, kinda like OKC did with Westbrook. It has the double advantage of extending his skillset and tank at the same time (Westbrook was dreadful when he started, OKC got a lottery pick and selected Harden), with the 2014 draft it's a good move.

I'm sorry but that's bullshit, you can tell if someone has good attributes, even if he's just playing one-on-one. Summer League means shit, that's why T. Jones was the Rockets best player yesterday, but it's still a good tester for people looking to get noticed.

As for the Magic, I've been reading rumours that the Rockets are looking at Ryan Anderson, because they need a stretch four. Lin is definitely available but the word is that they're trying to keep hold of Asik, so I'm curious how they could go about it because Vasquez is competent enough and I don't think they want another PG coming in.

I got confused with the second paragraph

- Ryan Anderson and Vasquez are with the Pelicans, not the Magic
- The rumours Anderson vs Asik + other things are true

The Pelicans consider Vasquez as a good trading chip, since they got Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans, on top of Eric Gordon at the guards positions.

Yeah, that's just me being thick and getting the Pelicans mixed up the Magic.

How likely do you think it is Oden goes to the Heat?

I could see him going to Dallas over Heat and Spurs. I think they could probably offer more game time. At the time they only hold two centers with 1 being a Free Agent where as Heat hold 6 who can play center including Birdman who just signed a 1 year extension. I think after sitting out about 2 seasons play time will be a big factor for him

I also confused myself in the process because Vasquez was considered a trading chip, but he was part of the Evans trade going the other way along with Robin Lopez.

As for Oden the Heat still have their Mid Level Exception so they can get him with that, the Spurs could only offer him the veteran minimum and Dallas whatever they want.

AK47 with the Nets

Bloody hell, that ain't fair.

Deron-Joe Johnson-Pierce-KG-Lopez
Livingston-Terry-AK47-Evans-Blatche

3M after he opted out of 10M with the Wolves, must be some shady stuff going on with Prokhorov.
