This NewGen Facepack contains 227,000 new faces for newgens in Football Manager.
Newgens (sometimes called regens) are the new players that the game generates, primarily for youth intakes, but sometimes also to fill teams in playable leagues, new backroom staff and other people like members of the press and agents.
By default the faces associated with these players are awful. This pack fixes that.
The pack currently consists of:
~193,000 male player pictures across 60 different ethnicity categories
~16000 female player pictures - this base pack is still under development, not every nation/ethnicity is covered yet.
~18000 staff pictures for both male and female.
FM26/FM24 Windows, Mac and SteamDeck/Linux Instructions
This is the main installation method that allows you to use the pack in its full glory.

On Mac this now requires no SIP deactivation and no sudo and no other workarounds.
Lazy Install using the Bundle Replacement Method
If you are lazy and don't care too much about the faces follow these instructions. However be warned that this method is severely limited and only has 7000 male and 7000 female picture total, so you may see repeat faces on multiple profiles or incorrectly assigned skin colours and ethnicities.
This method should only be considered as a demo version of the actual full pack.
- Download “ui-newgen-portraits_assets_all.bundle”
- Place the file here:
- Windows: \Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 26\fm_Data\StreamingAssets\aa\StandaloneWindows64\ui-newgen-portraits_assets_all.bundle'
- Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 26/fm.app/Contents/Resources/Data/StreamingAssets/aa/StandaloneOSX/ui-newgen-portraits_assets_all.bundle
- In FM26 > Preferences > Detailed > Audio & Visual.
- Check ✅ Show pictures of players (and staff) who have been generated by the game
- Check ✅ Use pre-generated pictures of players (and staff) rather than dynamically-generated images
- Restart Football Manager 26

Hi, this only possibly affects the bundle method. If you use the software method (which I strongly advice on Windows as the experience is not even close on the bundle), then it works without problems. At least I have tested it on all possible saves (new, old, migrated from FM24) and had no issues.

Thanks for the good Mod. I like it. Today i made a preserve, but a player of Gabun doesn´t get a picture. He has a original newgen Picture. The rest of my players are ok.

Nah, Im more affected by my small kids and the need to move flats in two month. But Im kind of used to work in such schedule over the last year 😀
Im currently working on making the new GUI working + migrating last pieces of the picture assignment logic.
The scanner itselfs… lets say it works. Savegame patterns are a lot more unstable than memory patterns, so there is a lot of guess work involved to reverse engineer everything but most importantly to test it. Since there is no way to export data from FM I rely on comparing data with the memory scanner (which in itself had some guess work involved)…
I hope to make everything compile and run in about a week time, after that either another week for more testing or I put it out as an Alfa version so people could try for themselves.
I still havent found a way to export player names or PA, but I think that is not that important for now. The biggest problem I currently have is to properly differentiate between players and staff, there is still like 5-10% that I sort by age as a backup.

Hello, this might be because he has just been generated. Please try to save your game, then go back to the main menu, then reload back into your save and re-scan in Preserve mode after that. Then restart your game and check if that helped.

Hello, this might be ID Recycling - FM reuses old IDs (that already got pictures attached) for completely different players. Please try to save your game, then go back to the main menu, then reload back into your save and re-scan in Preserve mode after that. Then restart your game and check if that helped.
ID Recycling protection on my side currently has a small bug where if the only thing that has changed between old and new player is the gender (f.e. ID of East Asian Japanese female player got reused for an East Asian Japanese male player), then ID protection does not trigger and such puctures wont get reassigned.

Not via the newgen-style assignment, SI blocks that for some reason. Bassy told he might have an idea of what can be tried to change it via “unity” methods, but I guess he hadnt time yet to sort that out.

Hi. Been using the NG_Regens software for 2 weeks now, works wonder. But pardon me for asking, I already did exactly as your guide on how to generate preserved face when a new youth intake comes the same periode your save is running, with Save > exit > load again, then do a preserve mode, and it works as it is explained. But I notice there's still some Regen player that has SI Default face, and there's also still some staff with black shilouette face. Not many, maybe around 1 or 2 player with every new intake. Am I missing something? Again, sorry for asking.

Only new pictures. I reupload the main pack roughly every 2-3 picture packs that I release so that new users wont have to spend an hour downloading updates

Hi, it is hard to say exactly, the first thing that comes to mind - are you using any DB updates? Maybe they are pre-generated real players, those do not get regen faces.

I do use DB updates and now that you mentioned it, it is pre-gen young players just like they are in real-life. Thanks for pointing it out - now its clear as day for me, as I'm still early in my second season. Guess I just missed quite the obvious …

I have asked AI and those are two things I would check:
Unblock the file
Right-click the
.exe→ PropertiesIf you see “Unblock” → click it → Apply
Fix permissions
Right-click file/folder → Properties → Security
Ensure your user has Read & Execute
If not: Edit → grant permissions

I've noticed since the update the staff faces are not changing to use the picture pack, so i have media members with generated faces instead of ones from the picture pack.
