Hi everyone,
I'm trying to get the 3D kits for national teams to work, but I'm having a problem.
The kits only appear correctly during World Cup matches. In any other international match (friendlies, qualifiers, continental tournaments, etc.), the teams use the generic kits instead of the custom 3D ones.
I have already assigned the correct kit ID to each national team and added everything properly in the config/notepad file, but the custom kits still do not appear outside of the World Cup.
Has anyone run into this issue before? Is there another step I'm missing to make the national team 3D kits appear in all matches?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Same issue identified by me my friend. So annoying.

They don't even work during the Euros. I haven't got far enough yet to see if they work during world cup 2030, I suspect they are only licensed to work for this world cup. Or hopefully it's just a bug that'll be fixed for FM27.

Just thought I'd update everyone in here.
They have confirmed the kits only work for the World Cup 2026, not any other tournament and from what I can infer from the comment they won't work on upcoming World Cups in your save either, strictly 2026 only.
Seems like a really stupid decision but I'm sure they have their reasons.

Main reason being they don’t care about their customers, I.e the poor saps that bought fm26

Any news in this topic? Of course I am having the same issue. My National kits only work during the 2026 WC.
I tried to delete the wc kits file from the game db folder, but it didn’t work.

until someone can find the fix either database edit, custom edit files or any other workaround this isn't going to be a a possible option.

I’ve found a way to make custom 3D kits for national teams appear in international matches. I’m still testing it across several matches to check whether all 3D kit textures can be loaded properly.

Cool! How did you do it? Can you share with us how you are testing? Or the files? So that at least I see if I can use my kits in some friendly matches
