Shocking officials. Set of incompetent, unprofessional, feckless morons. Should be sacked. The game should either be awarded to us as a 1-0 win, or replayed from the 35th minute, with Wednesday's team selection tied (injuries permitting) to the other 10 who played.

He was awful all game. Helan got two of ours booked after he should have walked, nearly scored a last-minute winner, and injured Jack Hunt. It affected the outcome. Awful.

And wasn't Kevin McDonald part of the Allardyce setup?

Neil McDonald that was. Kevin was Martin O'Neill's assistant at Villa, I think.

2-0 up at Barnsley atm, Josh King and Ruben.

Think in context that's a reasonable statement. Bearing in mind that the officials' attention was drawn to the two yellow cards, and they ignored it, only to later apologise for the error, their professionalism and decision-making needs to be placed under severe scrutiny.

Wednesday should be docked their point for their part in this farce, though. Not fair on anyone if they're allowed to keep it, just as it would be unfair to award Town all 3 points or to order a replay which may result in Town defeat. Why should the misleading party get any profit? Sadly, I think no action will be taken other than to enforce a 1-match ban for the player concerned and the referee to be rested for a few weeks.

The game will not be replayed, the result should and will stand, it's a referee error, they happen in every game, if it was to be replayed it'd open every game of football to be replayed because of referee errors. I don't blame you for being annoyed any fan would be, but we'd beat you in a replay anyway and the first booking wasn't even a dive

The PGMOL are investigating referee Mick Russell and he'll be delt with, the FA will no doubt turn a blind eye to it, especially as they let this stand.

Aside from the two cards was Helan any good? I've been meaning to find out how he's doing at Wednesday.

He's been ok, been moved to left wing now, where he's been playing a lot better then left back, scored a quality goal on boxing day against Charlton, his pace and power are his only real attributes tho

The video sums up the FA, really. Ref invents goal, naff all done. Replay certainly should have been arranged in that instance.

The difference between the 99% of referee errors and this is that with most refereeing mistakes it's a matter of interpretation. This isn't a matter of interpretation, as a player received two yellow cards and wasn't dismissed - there's no interpretation there, the law of the game is absolute. Compare that to such as the Anthony Gerrard red card against Palace, which the referee interpreted - wrongly, as it happens, with the FA upholding our appeal - that the tackle was dangerous. Had he scored a late winner then what would happen? He shouldn't have been on the pitch.

And we'll beg to differ on the first yellow. I thought at the time it was a blatant dive, and the replays I've seen suggest to me I'm right - not least because ten of your players don't appeal and only Helan seems surprised by the yellow card. Thought at the time he might have been hard done to on the second, though, as from the far side it looked like he took the ball.

On the replay front - no thanks, to be quite honest. Sat through it once, don't want to go through it again, kindest thing that could be said about either side is that they put in the effort. Both sides had chances to win it, but neither really deserved it.

We've brought in Micky Mellon to assist Flitcroft for the next few games, and Mellon has applied for the manager's job. Hopefully it's just short-term as I wouldn't want either of them in charge full-time.

Uwe Rosler has been mentioned in the press as the club's number one choice, although I can't see us paying out any compensation in our current situation. Sean O'Driscoll is the fans' favourite, at the minute, and mine too.

Oldham sack three members of their backroom staff but keep Dickov. Football geniuses.

Our cull has begun. Marcus Marshall's loan to Grimsby has been extended till the end of the season and Lateef Elford-Alliyu has been released. Couldn't care less about both of them. Neither Marshall nor Pan have conivinced and as we are a bit short of goalscoring power upfront it's the right the decision to get rid of the deadwood

3-0 win v Forest. Rochina, Rhodes and Kazim-Richards. The latter two's goals were very good, Rhodes looked like he put his in out of nothing, and Kazim's was a very nice finish.

Forest were pretty poor.

It's a good job we won too, I couldn't find my season ticket card this morning/early afternoon so had to pay £22 on the door, after spending a hefty sum last night. Still don't know where my season ticket is so I may have to enquire about a replacement.....

Been a long time coming, Fletch never struck me as a manager, he had us playing nice football in patches to his credit but we never had any cutting edge, for example we've had 43ish shots in the past two matches and only scored 1 goal. Colin Lee's the bookie's favourite but most of the fans want Keith Hill. I'd make a sneaky offer to O'Driscoll, what've we got to lose.

Lost 1-0 against Tranmere. 10 games without a win - I'm starting to forget how a win feels like. Normally, I would still be confident if we could sign some players, but the embargo is holding us back. We've also been setback by the news that Matt Doherty has to go back to Wolves although he wanted to extend his loan here. Shame, player of the season imo.

Blackwell became favourite overnight I think, I know he was a player here years ago so the bookies are hopefully just putting two and two together and best be getting five.

Edit: According to Odds Checker these are the top ten favourites.

Kevin Blackwell
Keith Hill
John Deehan
Colin Lee
Gary Waddock
Lawrie Sanchez
Paul Buckle
Steve Cotterill
Jim Magilton

John Sheridan, allegedly a drunkard and an aggressive man, is apparently going to be confirmed as our new gaffer on Monday, according to local papers and his son on Facebook (apparently). Not excited about this at all, Colchester fans haven't given him a glowing report for all he's done for them there's more bad than good. Supposedly we can't get Keith Hill because he's still in dispute with Barnsley about his pay-off.

And Darren Purse will be unveiled as Port Vale's latest signing at half time today against us.

John Sheridan, allegedly a drunkard and an aggressive man,

Sounds like a certain slaphead manager we had at Rovers recently.

But yeah, that doesn't sound too promising for you guys. At least it hasn't been properly confirmed yet, still hope.....
