February 2014 – Athletic Bilbao


La Liga



We started the biggest game of our season against Real Madrid, We drew first blood on 16th minutes with Herrera's opening goal. Real Madrid couldn't stop him dictating the play. The ref gave them a penalty after our left back fouled Isco ffs. Which he converted to level the score. Susaeta scored a cracker strike outside of the box to give us the lead. We went in half time, 2-1 up. I noticed there was a huge gap between Real Madrid 2 DMC and AMR AMC AML so I instructed the team to exploit the middle and which seems to work as Susaeta bagged a brace on 73rd minutes to put the game to bed.

We traveled to face Celta Virgo, We dominated the game and won it easy in the end.

We welcome Espanyol at home, I decided to give Sebas his first start in the league due to Herrera's injury ( Was out for 3 days). But this was Iba Gomez's day with 2 fantastic free kick (first goal was 24 meters and 2nd from 25 meters) to give us 3 points.

We faced Real Betis and it was a tough game for us. Guillermo scored on 8th minutes to give us the lead. they pulled one back on 20th minutes and we could have went couple goals up but Guillermo was tad wasteful. After the break, we won a free kick on 52nd minutes and Iba stepped up and scores from free kick to give us another win

We play Granada, Surprisingly we went behind after they scored from a corner on 19th minutes. Iba pulled one back for us on 27th minutes with a strike inside the box. Susaeta put us ahead with lovely shot from the outside of the box. Sebas finally bagged his first goal for us as Herrera's out for 3 weeks which he picked up against Real Betis Which we went 3-1 up at half time. Granada was all over us like mad, and thankfully we managed to give away a goal.

Cope Del Rey



We faced Osasuna in the Semi Final. First leg, we absolutely battered them and yet we only won 2-1. We took the lead thanks to Rico's fantastic strike. They capitalized on our mistake to level the score on 79th minutes. Iba Gomez decided to score the winner for us, by beating 3 players to score inside the box with 4 minutes left to give us the advantage for second leg.

2nd leg - A game where we should have won, we had a goal ruled out. I decided to give Sebas his first start as Herrera was knackered. He performed well for us.

We will play Barcelona in the final after they beat Real Madrid 5-1 on agg.


Thanks to Getafe beating Real Madrid 1-0 before we played Real Betis to enable us to increase the gap to 4.

March 2014 – Athletic Bilbao


La Liga


We face Valencia and I was expecting a tough game but we won the game with ease.

We played another away game against Villarreal, we was so unlucky to lose They took their chances and we never did.

We welcome Getafe at home, We went ahead inside 1 minute thanks to Laporte's header inside the box. Rico blantly gave away the ball to their striker and converted it into the net to go 1-1. To my amusement, Rico some reason decided to give away another ball which their striker converted again to give them the lead. Told the team at half time to step up in gear and perform in 2nd half and thanks to Susaeta and Munian grabbing a goal apiece to give us 3 points. I let it rip at full time and blamed it solely on Rico the waste of space.

We went to Eche and not surprisingly we went behind after sloppy defending. Guillermo equalized 5 mins later after their goal. Went in half time saying we was unlucky not to be winning and team got in confidence mood and demolish 2nd half.

We welcome 13th place Atletico at San Mames, They came here for a draw, and constantly fouling my players to stop us playing the way we usually play. We was dreadful in front of the goal and had 6 CCC to our name.


The gap is 3 points, Would have like it to be more but we just got to keep winning and hope Real Madrid slips up.

Disappointing intakes but will only be signing the top 2.

April 2014 – Athletic Bilbao


La Liga



First game of the month was away to Levante, We raced to 2-0 up thanks to Susaeta double brace. All of sudden we ended up giving away 2 goals within succession around 60th minutes which I was fuming. But thanks god for Susaeta bagged his hat trick on 80th minutes to give us the win which we needed.

We welcome Malaga to San Mamés, before the game, Bernd Schuster was dissing my team and I told him that we will batter his team and yet we did. We took the lead on 20th minutes through Guillermo, 50 seconds later, they equalized out of nowhere. Then afterwards we dominated the game and won 4-1 with ease.

We travel to Nou Camp for our match against Barcelona and Messi ripped us apart and Mikel Jose was shocking and let him ran past him so many times. They was given conversational penalty on 12th minutes. We just didn't turn up and Messi ran the show with a hat trick and a goal from Sanchez.

Sevilla visit San Mamés for our match, It was walk in the park for us and Laporte's double from corner. Sevilla couldn't break us down til 90th minutes to pull one back for them.

Cope Del Rey



Gutted to lose in the final, Barcelona scored 2 goals on 7th and 11th minutes which was a massive step upwards for us, But I'm glad we got to the final in the end.


I think the title is in our hands and it's up to us to see it out. Still 3 points ahead.

May 2014 – Athletic Bilbao

La Liga



We faced Rayo, away. Razvan Rat headed in Susaeta's cross into his own net on 30th minutes. 9 minutes later we was awarded a penalty after Guillermo was fouled. Iraola converted to make it 2-0. Guillermo's strike on 43rd minute to go 3-0 up against Rayo. Guillermo bagged another goal of the game in 61st minute which practically was game over. Iturraspe decided to add his name to the score sheet on 89th minute to give us 5-0 and 3 points

Real Madrid watch: Real Madrid 2-1 Valencia

We welcome our biggest rival, Real Sociedad, hoping our last match against them was no repeat. Herrera was diciting the show with a cracker outside the box to give us the lead. 26th minute, Laporte headed in Herrera corner kick to put us up 2 goals. Thankfully it was never a repeat like last time.

Real Madrid watch: Celta 1-2 Real Madrid

Biggest game of our season. away to Almeria, knowing we needs a draw to win the La Liga, I decided to give Larrayoz his 2nd start of the season. He put us ahead on 26th minute. lack of concentration from Iraola gave Vidal the slip to level the score. We dominated all over since they scored. And the team was really wasteful and few shots hit the post and went out. We had a penalty on 90+2 minutes which San José just blasted it at the keeper to leave us with a point.

CHAMPIONS Would have like to won the league few games beforehand.

Annoyed that Del Bosque overlooked Susaeta and Herrera for the World Cup squad. Ridiculous.

Next season
Champions League next season No doubt it will give us massive boost to our club balance.
Will try offload deadwood players in the summer.
Tighten up our defence.

Pre season 2014 – Athletic Bilbao



Napoli was the first team to face as our pre season for this season. A game where we should have won. Munoz has a goal disallowed. Rico and Moran both gave away for 2 of their goals ffs.

Decided to go on tour to China to boost income.

We start the season with home to Villarreal.

We playing Barcelona in Supercopa, first leg away.

And our new captain for this season is Ander Herrera. Decided to go for him as he's young and regular starter. Gurpegi lost the plot when he lost the captaincy.

Transfers


Released a lot of players in the summer as they ain't good enough to play for Bilbao. I decided to invest in the youth in the summer as we got vast of experience players in the team. Also promoted handful of players from Bilbao Athletic. Iker's move to Spurs is delayed til I find some replacements for him.


Promising defender, definitely overpaid for him. Going to work on his physical.


Another promising attacking midfielder, scout rated him very highly. Will be keeping eye on his development over the season. Thinking about retraining him to winger or ST? Any suggestions?


Scout found him while on scouting mission. Promising keeper and got Iraizoz tutoring him, will be no 1 keeper when Iraizoz retires.


Spent 6.5m on him. Scouts were crazy about him, already played 2 games in the pre season, 2 goals, 2 assists and 1 MOTM. Being tutored by Ander Iturraspe.

Yes that's right, Jamaica finished 2nd! Spain needed to beat them in last game and only manage to draw 1-1.

Spain sacked Del Bosque and appointed Guardiola.

I decided not to get anyone in, So I will use someone from U's19.

August 2014 – Athletic Bilbao

La Liga



What an brilliant start to our season, 6-1 win over Villarreal. I gave Munoz his first start at AMC and didn't last that long and got injured by their player on 9th minute Was replaced by Ruiz. Guillermo got us off to the flyer with a goal inside 3 minutes. Ibai Gomez doubled our lead after Herrera was fouled in the box. San José headed in Susaeta's corner to give us 3 goals lead. It was Susaeta's turn to fire into the net with a beauty finish. lack of concentration from San José let Diouf fire one in for Villarreal. Before half time, Rico scored our 5th goal, which the game was practically dead. There was only one goal in the second half, Ruiz set up Ibai Gomez with a pass outside of the box, Gomez beat 3 Villarreal players to score a great goal for us.

We face Malaga away, no surprise to see Bernd Schuster was dissing my team again, ******. It was very even match for both teams and we chances to score in first half. Captain Herrera bagged us 3 points with a fantastic solo goal. Laporte cut out Malaga pass and passed it to Guillermo and through pass it to Herrera and beat his man to run into the box and blasted it into top corner. Malaga kept coming at us and thankfully we managed to hold on in the end. **** Schuster.

We welcome our big rival, Osasuna at home with a sell out stadium. Gave Peréz his first start on the left winger. and performed well for us, We had a throw in on 7th minutes and Balenziaga threw it to Iturraspe who crossed it into the box and Herrera chested it down to Susaeta to strike it into the net. We was poor in front of the game and I'm struggling to work out why we not converting those chances. They struggled to break down our defence and we grind out 1-0 win.

Supercopa


No surprise there, Barcelona was incredible lucky to beat us.



UEFA Champions League


Pretty happy with the group we are in. I think 2nd is definitely doable. Home games will be crucial for us. We got Bayern away first game.


At least I'm not in Celtic group!
