Probably the only conclusion of yet another deadline day where we seemed more devoted to unnecessary sales. What a waste of time.
Shola
I think Newcastle are going to have a bad season. The main issue is I think the club have totally missed what made this Newcastle team rise, and have sold the fringe players, in an attempt to move on to better things. Shola, Best, Perch, Simpson, Lovenkrands, Guthrie all gone, Jonas, S. Taylor and R. Taylor marginalised, completely missing the squad elements.
The star players like Cabaye, HBA, Remy and Ba may go, but the club should have ensured that the foundation remained the same.

Weren't you in a similar situation last year then went on a stupidly good run which basically ensured you were safe in december?
Number 1
The run was 7 wins in November/December. Before then we'd won 3 I think, so we had a foundation to push on from, plus Debuchy, Cabaye, and Remy, plus Sissoko and Gouffran when they actually gave a shit. Anything less than 6 points in the October international break means we're in desperate shit, and this year has been hideous form as it is.

We've weakened our squad this transfer window, haven't replaced Cabaye or Remy who were both integral to the team last year - when we lost them we went to shit.
No momentum going forward, fans are going to be on Pardew's back this year unless we're playing good football and winning games, two things he seemingly hates doing.

doesnt track back enough that lad

Talk of us being in the relegation zone after the final whistle on the final day is premature as I do feel there are at least 4 teams worse than us, but it's no consolation as we should be trying to be better than simply "16th or higher" (as 2012-13 disintegrated into), and the next month already looks like a nightmare waiting to unfold.

Pardew has tried several times to build the side around HBA. Pardew also loved Cabaye, and is trying to build the side around De Jong and Cabella. He clearly wants to build the side around a creative number 10. (Although the actual results have been piss poor)
Has there ever been any actual reference to 'tracking back' seems an easy cop out, the issue always seems to be several performances where he didn't look interested or fit. I'm not saying it's HBA's fault, I don't know the details, but he has left Newcastle in the same way as he left Marseille and Lyon, under a cloud and the club willing to cut it's losses on a talented player, whilst his career goes backwards.
Poe
My interpretation of that is defensive duties.

Tbf he is shit but it's not his fault he's being picked.
Independant are normally quite good with Newcastle stories, hopefully this one is true.

I don't like backing opponents to Newcastle, but I daresay this may encourage some people to be cheering on Southampton and Hull in the next two games.
Shola
I don't get what people see in Haidara, he tends to make lots of defensive mistakes. And his attacking generally consisted of running really fast before kicking it at the GK. Dummett may attack less but it's generally of a higher quality. And at least he's not on set pieces any more.
Pardew can have no complaints if he gets sacked, but aside from a short term improvement, I am fairly confident Newcastle won't be much better off in 12 months time. Unless Charnley/Ashley go really outside the box. Javi Gracia is my pick.
This is my ninth season as a season ticket holder, and tbh out of the managers we've had in order it's probably; Keegan, Hughton, Pardew, Roeder, Kinnear, Souness, Shearer, Allardyce.
Number 1
Yes he's not as good as Santon but he's probably the better back-up of our 23 other left-backs, and Haidara has gone backwards of late (admittedly he's not the only one under Pardew but still).
Poe
He's one of the worst players I've seen play for us, and he's Pardew's favourite

I think that he's not helping the situation but it isn't the only factor. Confidence is certainly a big one due to the horrendous form we've had in the last 8/9 months, even new players coming into a team with low confidence are likely to suffer
Poe
I certainly believe his piss poor man management can't help. Remember Stoke at home when Ben Arfa set 3 goals up and was dropped without explanation for 5 games?
Playing cisse right midfield, sissoko attacking left midfield etc
Shola
HBA was presumably dropped because Tiote came back from injury. HBA had been out of the team for weeks before the Stoke game. Newcastle had won 6 from the previous 8 games before the Stoke game without HBA. And Stoke had 9 men and were the much better team when it was equal.
Number 1
Cisse wide right did not work and had no reason to work. He really just should've been dropped when it was clear that he didn't gel in a 4-4-2 alongside Ba. But in saying this, in 2011-12, when we went on the winning run that almost got us into the Champions League places, we had a front 3 with Cisse flanked by HBA and Ba, and it seemed to work very well. Why Pardew altered from that is a strange one - it made some sense when we began running out of players about a third of the way through 2012-13, but his terrible tactical decision making in the first half of that campaign was as much a a problem as all the injuries.
Sissoko wide left has happened a few times but not as frequently as other misdemeanours. Yanga-Mbiwa in either full back role comes to mind.
Poe
Then left anyway.
Shola
And it's easy to say in hindsight that Cisse should have been dropped, but I'm fairly sure Cisse played RW when Stoke beat Newcastle at the Brittania, the other attacking options on the bench that day were; Sammy, Ferguson, Marveaux and Ranger.
Be honest if Newcastle were beaten playing a 4-3-3 with Ferguson/Ameobi/Obertan as the winger instead of Cisse, would you accept that the manager got it right in dropping Cisse?
Poe
Then we started against Spurs with Ba in the middle, and Cisse out wide.
