yeah, no cabaye or ben arfa either - playing a youthful lineup apparently.

Still think we'll win though.

Why are we playing 4-4-2

Why is Perch in defence and Anita in midfield

Pardew is annoying me this season.

Perch in midfield, Anita now at right back

Anita's positioning looks pretty dire though.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2020.

Pardew originally signed a five-and-a-half year deal when he succeeded Chris Hughton in December 2010.

However, the 51-year-old has been rewarded for guiding Newcastle to fifth place in last season's Premier League and a spot in the Europa League.

Pardew was named the manager of the 2011-12 season by both the Premier League and League Managers Association.

He became the first Englishman to win both awards in the same season.

Newcastle, who had been expected to struggle after narrowly avoiding relegation the season before, won 19 of their 38 league games, keeping 15 clean sheets.

A new, eight-year contract? Wow.

Reports coming out that essentially it's 8 x 1 year contracts that are heavily bonus loaded and success dependant. Think about it, Ashley doesn't really throw money away, however Sunderland fans on Twitter seem to have a lot to say about it

According to a report, Wonga.com are in talks to sign a shirt/stadium deal.

As much as having SportsDirect sponsor our stadium is a bit much, I would rather have them on our shirts than that bunch of wankers.

He had it right in the back half of last season.

It's a little frustrating as a Newscastle fan to be honest - we were great with 3 in midfield last season but Pardew insists on trying to force a 4-4-2. There's been multiple games where we've started in a 4-4-2 and it hasn't worked so we've moved to a 4-3-3 and looked a lot better.

It's because both Ba and Cisse hate playing wide.

You play 4-4-3 one of them ends up there, they're both good enough strikers to make wanting to get a 4-4-2 with them as a partnership working a sensible idea but it just hasn't clicked yet.

It isn't them two clicking upfront that's the issue.

We struggle to get a foothold in games and retain possession when we play in a 4-4-2 so it just leads to us being under a lot of pressure for extended periods of time. Todays game and the Everton game are prime examples of that.

Only Mike Ashley could get a company to pay £10m a season to get St James's Park called St. James's Park.

Absolutely not our problem solved, Ba playing left wing Cisse playing upfront Ben Arfa playing right wing = 9 games unbeaten.

We need the 4-3-3 back.

I can't imagine Demba Ba being too happy about being pushed out onto the left after his fine goalscoring form this season.

Alan Pardew has told his Newcastle United players to forget all about the club's new sponsorship deal with Wonga.com.

He's told them to just get on the pitch and give it 4107%.

It's a question really of just what is our best system if the two Dembas are incapable of playing alongside each other, although we did play better with Hatem Ben Arfa in a more forward position then a conventional right midfielder.
