Read an interview a year or 2 ago where he said he supported both West Ham and Arsenal as a kid before he started playing for us. Probably liked West Ham more until he joined AFC when he was about 9 as I think his old mans a hammer.

In all seriousness, he's done well this season - especially when you consider he was stepping into the shadow of a certain someone and had only previously played in Ligue 1. He works incredibly hard and gives us a different option to what we've had previously. 18 goals/ assists is a very respectable return at this stage of the season given the circumstances.

Per Mertesacker has been revealed as Arsene Wenger's debt collector in chief at Arsenal after a breach of training ground security that infuriated the Gunners manager.

Wenger was said to be "very disappointed" after a fan revealed some of the inner secrets of his regime after a visit to Arsenal's Hertfordshire training base.

According to reports in several newspapers, defender Mertesacker has been appointed by Wenger to collect fines imposed on first team squad members for any breaches of discipline.

Top flight clubs have long been protective of the secrets of their training bases, but details of the fines at Arsenal have given an insight into the club's disciplinary measures.

The fines, revealed in a photograph of a list published online, include:

Non-attendance of unused players at home matches without permission of manager - £1,000.

Being late for training - £250 (15 minutes), £500 (30 minutes).

Being late for matchday meetings/meals - £250.

Wearing inappropriate clothing outside the dressing room - £100.

Newspapers in dressing room - £100.

Non-production of urine sample for two consecutive weeks - £200

Phone calls in the building (texting allowed) - £500.

An Arsenal spokesman said: "The pictures are genuine. We understand that they were taken by a friend of a member of staff during a private visit to the training ground.

"The manager was made aware of the pictures being published, and we are very disappointed. We will review our procedures."

Love the last bit.

After 5 months in England, what has rubbed off on you, apart from the heading?

Tracking back defensively, putting in the effort. The English crowds are more appreciative of the game than the French. Here, they applaud a good tackle, or a decent pass. I feel good here. I love English football for its directness, its intensity, its games rammed full of scoring chances and the box-to-box. I love that this country eats, sleeps and drinks football. I’m finding my feet here. After all, they invented it.

I can't believe how lightly Owen got off on MOTD tonight. He's thrown a punch, there's no question of it, and it shouldn't matter that he's a weak little bitch who can't properly connect a hit when the guy he's going for is on the ground and facing the other way. Can you imagine the reaction had someone like Balotelli thrown a punch at someone? They would have hounded him and exclaimed what a disgrace he was to our fair league. Unfortunately it seems if you spend more time on their sofas than actually playing the game you're paid thousands of pounds a week for, you're allowed to get a free ride from Hansen et al and do whatever the fuck you want.

Oh, and Tony Pulis can go fuck himself. Biased, bitter old cunt.

They're hardly going to come out and blast the fuck out of him when he's a current and most likely future work colleague.

I've not seen this incident, got a gif or video bud?
