I'd take Torres at Arsenal, he may not be scoring but i certainly don't believe his career is as good as finished. All he needs is someone to put an arm around him and give him a bit of confidence, rather than slate every single thing he does on the pitch.

He's approaching 30, has a big ego and is on astronomical wages. No thanks.

Given how Arsenal fans are abusing Gervinho and Ramsey, I cannot imagine how that would go for his 'confidence'

Going to the game tomorrow, with the NextGen game vs Juventus just before at Griffin Park.

I don't think he has an ego at all anymore, which is half the problem.

He made a stink about not starting in the Champions League final and not being assigned to take a penalty, and doesn't seem like someone who's a team player and would be happy to sit on the bench. There's just far too much baggage with Torres and given the money we'd have to spend to sign him, it's just not worth the risk.

Chelsea spokesman has just denied the reports.

Russia Today tweeted it and then they didn't have it on their news ticker on TV at all.

He just has no confidence at all. He is literally scared to shoot. Which makes you a bit pointless if your a striker and your actually extremely good at it.

Frank Lampard signs a one-year extension to his Chelsea contract.

'I'm absolutely delighted," says Lampard. "Everybody knows I always maintained the dream was to stay at Chelsea. We've been talking for ages and even though it went on for quite a period it was always amicable.

'I want to thank Mr Abramovich for everything he's done in making the dream a reality. I love this club, the staff, the players and especially the supporters, who have treated me fantastically since the day I arrived. The thought of helping the club to more success in the forthcoming years is all I ever wanted. I couldn't be happier."

Mike Phelan and Eric Steele have been sacked so it looks like Steve Round and Chris Woods might be on their way to Utd with Moyes.

Seeing a lot of tweets, going:

Drogba's first 100 matches for Chelsea, 41 goals.
Torres' first 100 matches for Chelsea, 39 goals. Why all the criticism?

And it infuriates me.
Drogba had 42 league goals after his first three seasons.
Torres has 15.

Torres seems to score mostly absolutely pointless goals as well.

Sure, he was a moody twat at times. But he was a big game player, something Torres absolutely isn't.

Drogba was immense.

When I hear someone talking about him I just remember this goal.

For the pointless ones he's scored (is there such a thing as pointless goals anyway?), he also scored some crucial goals in league games, cup games and across Europe.

He's obviously not bagged them in the league like he once did but he's still managed some important ones nonetheless.

Edit: Chelsea were spoiled with a player like Drogba, you don't see those types with all those qualities often. It's easy to forget that at times.

"I have a team but no striker," said Mourinho. "The problem at Chelsea is that we are lacking a goalscorer. I have one [Samuel Eto'o] but he is 32, possibly 35, who knows?"
