Upfront no, but his wages were reported to be £300k p/w when he was here, and any portion of that is too much money for him.

Even a tenner spent on Falcao is too much, but the reports did say that his wages were cut down drastically.

Oh no doubt, and its chump change for a football club, but the idea that no money was wasted in the folly that was signing Falcao is just obviously wrong.

Its a bit like Veron lite.

This season is so strange. Two wins in our next two and we're back in the picture despite being humiliated at OT.

Sadly Chelsea aren't a million miles away from 4th, although Man City have 2 games in hand.

Had a feeling Leicester would slip up tonight. Not liking the difficulty they're having against teams lower down the table (Bournemouth, Norwich and WBA at home, Villa away - all from the last couple of months).

Just hope West Ham win tomorrow, and Liverpool too just to keep City at arms length.

Late start to pre-season is finally paying off as planned.

Yeah given they have the tightest Prem defence, dodgy is a strange word to use.

If you want a more accurate team to refer to, then Newcastle is your best bet. And with the added protection tonight of Sissoko, Wijandlum, Colback and Gouffran - none of whom do anything in away games, while our only away game winner this season (Perez) is benched again. Oh goodie.

In fairness I still reckon you can get at Spurs' defence. Vertonghen and Alderweireld are a bit short and not exactly intimidating. Mitrovic got joy out of them by essentially being a fat bastard. Obvious the defensive 'system' is obviously brilliant.

Good to see McClaren eventually try something different. After 26 games of abject failure. But why always Perez who is dropped. He's been woeful, but so has Shelvey, Sissoko and Wijnaldum.

Shelvey has provided match winning passes and Wijnaldum has provided match winning goals. Albeit all at home.

Sissoko hasn't done much since Spurs away

Gouffran is a terrible choice though. Offers nothing.

Usual negative tactics here, 2/3-0 to stoke after 0-0 at half time I imagine.

Not watching as I can't get streams to work (something about Flash) but Sky's pundit reportedly said we're playing a "low energy game", and Elliott has twice played it to the Stoke end without anyone getting a touch... not a great sign.

Shevley being a captain is an odd surprise. Meanwhile, Wijnaldum only plays at home (which considering he's our top scorer is not helpful), Sissoko has been garbage for most of the campaign, and Gouffran is Gouffran. One wonders why sign Saivet or keep Aarons and De Jong if they can't get ahead of this bunch.

It baffles me why we'd stand off an out of form Everton and an out of sorts Stoke but attack an inform Chelsea.

Stoke are here for the taking if we actually want it

Yeah. Its a bit perplexing and nonsensical.

Then again appointing McClaren was also perplexing and nonsensical.

How shit were Germany in the mid 2000's for Mertesacker & Podolski to get over 100 caps each

We should be 3-0 down.

How Arsenal didn't beat us I'll never know.

We should be 2-0 down. With City losing this is such a huge chance, but of course knowing us this season we are going to fuck it up.

Edit: Well 3-0 down like Ninja writes above. Typing on mobile is slow.

Amazing that this week Leicester have gained a point over all their rivals, who have lost/look like losing tonight.

Watford have two more incredible chances to score. Plus they should have had a penalty.
