Use this thread if like me you only have time to play occasionally and certainly don't have the time to write up a career/story. So please NO updates every 10 mins but do of course discuss each others current saves.

I load the game up every evening but sometimes only manage a couple of matches before i'm shutting down, i simply no longer have the time nor patience to sit there for hours on end but do still enjoy the game. I'm currently playing as Southend in the second season (league 2), last year we made the play-off semi's but lost to Newport, this year we've looked better but have been a bit off form. We did however manage to knock Birmingham out of the FA Cup with a 1-0 win at St Andrews setting up a home tie with Aston Villa.

Took over Marseille late October first season who where sitting bottom of the table with 2 points. Started with a fair few injuries which is probably the reason why.

Managed to get out of relegation zone and sitting 16th by the start of January.

I made the 4 transfers from Traore down. He currently has 6 goals in 5 games but missed as few due to AFCON. The other 3 have become instant starters too.

I started a game a short while ago and don't really have enough time to dedicate to it as I used to. Basically, I loaded a number of leagues, started unemployed and left it on holiday for just under 5 seasons. Stopped it in mid-March 2019 (I think) and checked the third tiers in Germany, Italy and Spain for a suitable mid-table team whose manager was under pressure and settled on Osnabruck in Germany.

Took over and started quite decently, including wins on both eventual promoted teams but my lack of good home-grown players and injuries ensured that my 10-game spell at the end of the season was a bit inconsistent. My dodgy financial situation meant I had to let a couple of high-earning, mostly backup players leave on free transfers in order to have a decent wage budget for 2019/2020. A blistering first half of the season, aided by my free signings: an American AMC (regen Rafael Cabrera - recommended by a new scout who had American knowledge somehow) and a German AMR/ST (Cedric Teuchert) was followed by an unconvincing and stuttering second half, which was still enough to help me to a comfortable promotion in second place.

Now in 2020/21 in the 2. Bundesliga, I have the smallest wage budget by a long stretch and the season preview had be down to finish joint-last. I kept faith with most of my promotion-winning team, but a 5-1 defeat on the first game of the season away to Kaiserslautern made me re-assess my squad quality and I got a number of signings in, including a DM/M/AM C named Sandro Djuric from an Austrian club for 150k, who has been a revelation and has the highest average rating in the division so far. After 10 games, I'm in 13th place now and with a good buffer from the relegation spots. I'd be higher if I had forwards who can finish - had 3 games in a row with 5+ clear-cut chances each games, from which I scored 3 goals and got 1 point.

At the rate I'm going and barring major surprises, I should end up in lower mid-table and I'm already looking for purchases to take me forward next season. My DL and DC and 33 and 35 respectively and should really be upgraded on and my DR is on loan so I will need a replacement there too. I also really need a solid goalscorer who can be relied on for 15-20 goals a season. If I sort those out, I should be an outsider for promotion next year, I reckon.

Edit: Screenshots to follow as the game isn't loaded atm.

Played with the compatible settings on FM, hoping I can run it for more than a day or 2 in game now. Hoping SI will be making 16 compatible with Windows 10. If not, then I might need to rethink using 10 as my main OS.

Good to see some action in the thread.

Never managed in France Tommo, though i'd imagine PSG are fairly invincible.

Don't think i'd have the patience for that Mons, i have to have at least some idea of the players i'm managing before i start a game.

If the game doesn't work with Windows 10 i think i might have to give it a miss too as waiting for the free download. Same for a music program i use, no way i'm installing if they're not gonna work.

Only played 6 more matches since the first post, lost to Villa 2-0 but a, not up to 2nd in the league.

PSG actually went on a bit of a loss streak. I managed to get a 2-1 win over them then noticed they lost a few after that

A lot of it was down to this man, i'm sure most of you will remember him from his Wolves days. Managed to get him on a free and ended up being the leagues top scorer.

Well, earlier before I upgraded Windows 10 from 10074 to 10130 I managed to play a fortnight without a crash so hopefully I might be able to play with the new preview build.

I'm completely the opposite, the fun for me is when the regens start coming in. 4/5 years down the line some of the regens are already good enough to start games rather than just being promising youngsters.

Many years ago (first couple of CM games) me and a mate used to play a lot with just fake player names, could never do that now though.

I usually have a couple of normal careers on the go, but I always have one where I give a shit team loads of money and good players just to mess about when i'm bored of the others. In this case it is Queen's Park in Scotland and I just had this goal go in against Arsenal in the Europa League. Probably the best overhead kick i've ever had on FM

Fucked up massively in the market, signed Taggart who would be a brilliant player at this level. Sadly i didn't realise he didn't earn a work permit so can never actually play for more me

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is the laziest footballer i've ever seen play in real life. Literally didn't break into a single sprint in a whole 90 minutes.

No idea, managed to sell him in the end for £500k.

Done exactly the same thing again now though with a player called Godsway Donyoh, certain the WP part never came up in my news this time. Sadly i can't even give this prick away either ffs.

He's not been great for me, had to sign him for the Arsenal link though.

Due to every career I post in the stories section going completely wrong I thought i'd post here instead. Currently in my 4th season with Arsenal and for a change I've done fairly well, winning the Prem x2, Champions League, FA Cup x2, Super Cup and World Club Championship. Have spent when needed to but have also given the youngsters a go too, currently 12 games into season 4.

I still play a lot but can only really go on a couple of nights a week now. This summer once my MA degree is over I might start getting back into it properly again. For the moment though I just have my obligatory Man Utd save which I'm currently about 9 or so seasons into and one sort of empire building type save where I'm currently stumbling my way through the lower leagues with Solihull Moors.

I have also weirdly enough never managed in France... in 18/19 years of playing these games. Might be something to try

In my Blackpool game, April in second season, there must be a lot of managers who are far exceeding their board expectations because I'm second favourite for the sack - even though I have 58% board satisfaction and have just signed a new contract at the club a week previously! Just had 3 wins on the trot too. Don't know what more I can do to get my odds of the sack down!

Started a new save t'other day, managing Real Madrid as I wanted a game that'll just be a 'f**k about' game until the new one is released - whether I purchase it or not remains to be seen - but yeah we're cruising towards the La Liga title as we're something like 20-odd points clear at the top, losing just the one game so far to Villarreal but we should have won that with ease and we're also in the semis of the Spanish Cup after just about seeing off Rayo Vallencano.

But while things are going swimmingly domestically, we struggled to get through our Champions League group alongside Benfica, Basel and Monaco and only progressed to the first knockout round because of Basel's single goal win at Monaco as we lost our last three group games - 2-1 away to Monaco, 2-0 away to Basel and 1-0 at home to Benfica which was frustrating. We've got Juventus in the first knockout round so dramatic improvement is needed.

Made no signings this season and as expected Cristiano Ronaldo has been immense. Gareth Bale not as much, scoring just three goals in the league so far.

Starting XI is:

Navas
Carvajal - Ramos - Varane - Marcelo
Kroos - Modric
James - Isco - Bale
Ronaldo

Don't question @Dan's transfer business @Suffolk Seasider because sometimes it makes sense.

An update on my game and we've been crowned La Liga champions but that's not overly surprising as we were 20-odd points clear at the summit but we've also progressed in the Champions League after seeing off Juventus 2-0 on aggregate (2-0 at home, 0-0 in Turin) before beating Arsenal in the quarter finals 4-3 on aggregate (lost 2-0 at the Emirates but won 4-1 back at the Bernabeu while we'll face Valencia in the Spanish Cup final so a good chance of a domestic double in my first season at the club - not bad.

Still don't know who I'm going to end up buying at the end of the season although another centre back (or two) is a must.

Just won the Champions League for the first time since I won it with Rangers on a previous Football Manager game (2014?) after we beat French side Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 in Milan. Thought I'd post it in this thread because we completely dominated the final as PSG had zero attempts on target. An own goal from shotstopper Kevin Trapp and a Gareth Bale goal sealed an eleventh Champions League trophy. Marcelo was sent off but c'est le vie.
