I was mostly joking, but I don't like that sort of penalty and I'm happy to explain why.

For me a good penalty is unsaveable, if you put it in any of the corners at a decent pace no keeper in the world will save it. Someone like RVN was a great penalty taker because more often than not he got it right in the corner, of course you try and give the keeper the eyes, but thats only half the job because if the keeper guesses the right way you still should score.

Probably the worst culprit for this was Berbatov, who is, in my opinion one of the worst penalty takers I've seen. His entire routine was based on giving the keeper the eyes, but his actual penalty was so weak. When he fucked it up, he really fucked it up. So yeah, whilst Can's penalty looks good even when they come off I don't think they're good penalties.

I mean case in point, you say Mingolet was unlucky, but I'd say City just took good penalties. They ensured they scored them even when the keeper went the right way.

Fair enough, but I think a panenka takes some balls as you're hoping the keeper dives first. It's not a great penalty technique no, but definitely some balls. Actually pretty easy to execute if you know the keeper will dive.

But yeah good point on the City penalties, but maybe if Mignolet dives a second earlier he could reach some. Good penalties yeah, but unlucky as well
