How do they pick the team is it based opn fitness or some other type of data

Think they just pick the strongest team possible providing the players are reasonably fit enough to play. I always have him control them but i rarely take much notice of the team he picks or if there is even an option to just use players who need the match fitness ahead of someone that doesn't.
