How this is still 1-1 is beyond me. Had it not been for that shit referee I guess we would have been infront. We've completely dominated but Israel took the lead having been awarded a real soft penalty. Marcus Pedersen then got a deserved equaliser, before that knob head of a ref decided to hand out a real harsh red card to Vegar Hedenstad and we're down to 10 men. Israel haven't had a single shot on target whereas we've hit the woodwork twice...

meh, 2-1 now. We would have won this match under normal circumstances.

Thank god Israel didn't get the three points, though 2-2 is still a robbery. It sucks as we would have won this match 9 out of 10 times.

43 - Number of goals in the top five leagues scored this season by members of Italy's current U21 squad (England U21s: 10). Experience.

Shocking.

That Verratti is a bit good isn't he.

Was very impressed with Italy though, hadn't heard of some chunks of their team but a very promising group of players by the looks of it

Israel vs Norway - We were terrible, didn't even deserve that point. Norway looked very good but I think it has a lot to do with the fact that we were shit! Can't see things getting any better against Italy and England...

England vs Italy - Wasn't really impressed by England. The Liverpool trio really failed to do anything. Redmond was probably the only good English player on the field. You could maybe say that Chalobah was fairly good as well! Disallowed goal should have stood in my opinion but nothing you can do about it. Italy were very good, especially Insigne. Verratti is a crying twat.

It's pretty desperate that Stuart Pearce is still in charge of bringing through what is supposed to be the brightest young talent in the country, with his 'keep it tight and hope to nick one' philosophy.

Stuart Pearce shouldn't be a football manager let alone the u21 manager.

Nicking one and playing Nathan Delfouneso, Connor Wickham and Marvin Sordell upfront is something quite contradicting. Can't stand any of these

It's about time we beat England having lost both games in the qualifiers. And from what I saw tonight I think we stand a fair chance against them. If we manage to win I feel pretty confident we're going to progress to the semi-finals so it's going to be a huge game. Are Zaha, Ince and Rose expected to be back for the game btw?

It's annoying that we have an incompetant manager who cant use the best players available.

These 2 will be, they were suspended for the Italy game.

If Delfouneso, Wickham and Sordell are the best young strikers we've got then we have no chance, awful, also playing Lowe over Chalobah was a poor decision. I've always liked Pearce but no way is he ever going to be a good manager, especially of youngsters

Yeah, as much as I obviously want Lowe to do well he's not really that good tbh, when he's starting for England u21's and Verratti is in the opposing midfield it shows the difference.

Agree on the strikers. There's a serious lack of good English strikers these days but surely those three will never make it as a full international. Me and my dad were saying actually during the Brazil game that if Rooney can break the all time scoring record (needs about 13 more I think), then he'll comfortably hold on to it for a long time - the next person to get anywhere near will most likely be somebody who hasn't even started playing professionally yet.

Welbeck and Zaha are obviously much better, and Sturridge only missed out by a couple of months. Wilshere/Rodwell/Oxlade-Chamberlain would do a better job in the midfield as well. And Kyle Walker and Phil Jones at the back. And Danny Rose is very good too.

I would fancy Sturridge to break the goalscoring record. He looks the type to put 56 goals past San Marino.

The tackle itself was probably a red.

The second yellow was a joke, however.

Team v Norway: Butland, Smith, Caulker, Dawson, Rose, Chalobah, Lowe, Henderson (c), Ince, Redmond, Zaha

subs: Steele, Clyne, Lees, Robinson, Wisdom, McEachran, Shelvey, Delfouneso, Sordell, Wickham, Rudd

I also witnessed Norway have their best players (Henriksen and Nordveidt) on the bench today. The question is: What's the point in calling up players that are travelling to games with the A squad? Pointless. Anyway, not really looking forward to this.

Yeah, but who else is there to play? Delfouneso? Wickham? I tihnk Zaha is not even doing that badly today, just doesn't get any decent passes

Problem today is the midfield imo. Neither Chalobah, nor Lowe, nor Henderson are able to create anything. I'm even more surprised about how weak Lowe and Chalobah are at defending today. Overall an extremly poor performance today
