Wow they've had a fall from grace! I'm sure they've got the right man in charge now though!

Once went to watch them play after my team got postponed near Bradford! Was an enjoyable experience! Good luck man!

Right! I am intrigued to see what I can do with them.
That's cool, it does look like a nice stadium to be at.

Just a quick update after the season's complete conclusion.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/j0TSs9GB0qn4ABIObq6noSaBEgi0qq76X0fEbktP.png

Dulwich Hamlet, as already noted, went up as league champions. They'll be joined in League Two by Newport County, who defeated Havant & Waterlooville in the play-off final.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/9lxOiSMmZXanLll7ZonK1ktNdC7rkrL19XhW44vr.png

Speaking of League Two, Morecambe and Fleetwood Town will be joining my Bradford City lot down in the National League; which Dover Athletic, Dagenham & Redbridge, Bromley and Boreham Wood drop out of.

As for promotion from the regional North/South leagues, Carlisle United (quite the drop) and Woking won those respective divisions while Kettering Town and Ebbsfleet United also join them up.

Our end of season awards et al. also came through, as seen under the spoiler. The board want play-off football next campaign, which is fair enough.

Cheers!
Exactly that, we should be in-and-around them especially as it's 2nd-7th - if I haven't got them challenging for at least 7th it all on me!

Appreciate the support!
Bradford deserve to be an EFL team, hoping it's me who can get them back there - and perhaps, as you say, beyond. All focus on 2029/30 tho!

It's only extremely early days, but sadly we're already showing the exact same frailties that cost us last season...

Played: 5
Won: 3 (all at home)
Not Won: 2 (both away)

We must sort out our away form.

Now that's what I'm talking about.

A great return to form in October, yet we're somehow still outside the play-offs despite heading into this month just 3pts off them! In fairness, only 4pts separates us and league leaders Gateshead.

Our form upturn, which has incredibly included two away wins, is down to a tactical reshuffle and some young kids grabbing their opportunities.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/AHPss2UdZ0KJCh00rEq3hp2B0retTnKuye3kPvC3.png

Dean Wood (19yo) and Philip Brizell (18yo), signed from Manchester duo United and City in the summer, have impressed, while Sean Roney (17yo) has risen from the academy in a great manner - he's playing as if he's been in our first-team for years. This trio are putting some more experienced players to shame, to be blunt.

November saw us suffer costly dropped points.

We're out of the play-off spots on goal difference due to just one win. Three of the other four matches were drawn, while we lost the other fixture though that was an away tie in the FA Cup with League One outfit Swindon Town; who we held to 0-0 until stoppage time.

Must do better in December!

An absolute mess of December fixtures, despite losing just once.

We've become draw specialists, levelling out in six of the eight matches. Incredibly frustrating, an FA Trophy replay defeat to National League North's Altrincham didn't help either; although I did play a full-on B-team for that replay, due to our busy schedule.

We've somehow managed to regain our spot in the play-off places, albeit only just.

With January here, now's a good time to share the transfers I made in the summer.

Philip Brizell, Dean Wood, Zak Swanson and Matthew Collins have had their moments but none of the signings have been overly incredible unfortunately. Josh Chamberlain and Anthony Scully have barely featured, while Frankie Walsh has been the biggest disappointment having come off an excellent campaign on loan with champions Dulwich Hamlet in 2028/29. All of these players' profiles can be see behind the spoiler below.

No major outgoings, Brian Margetts and Jacob Bedeau perhaps the most notable departures.

Philip Brizell is attracting major interest from Championship clubs, no surprise given four goals and three assists in twenty-one starts for the 19-year-old.

We've received offers, a few that would potentially exceed £100k, but I've rejected them all. He's important to us. His contract does ends in a few months, but I've just triggered the one-year extension I put in his terms when he signed - and, to his credit, he hasn't even complained... yet.

If he does kick up a fuss to depart, I'm hopeful we'd be able to get him back on loan anyway.

January saw us go undefeated, albeit across just four fixtures. Sizeable wins over Alfreton Town and Maidstone United.

Alfreton remain champions-in-waiting, though a gap has finally opened between us and those outside the play-off positions; 4pts to be precise. Farnborough, Chorley, AFC Telford United and Morecambe, none of which are promoted teams, in trouble down the bottom - Morecambe on course for back-to-back relegations!

Still three long, long months to go.

There has been one departure across the month, as AFC Wimbledon of League Two signed our third-choice right-back Kareem Hassan-Smith for £7k. I'll take that happily, I never rated him despite previous EFL interest. Good luck to him, a cracking move to a stable league club.

Another month down, a second straight month without a loss to go eleven unbeaten in total.

Three wins and a draw in February, matching January's exploits. We've moved up to 2nd thanks to our pleasing form, though remain 13pts off of the table toppers. The title is gone, but we're looking good to secure a play-off spot for May 2020; 8pts clear of Maidstone United, who currently hold the place that doesn't bring knockout football.

12 games to go!

Wow did March start badly, as we suffered consecutive losses to Sutton United and Burton Albion - two average teams. We then drew with Kettering Town and FC United of Manchester, before recovering with victories over Hereford and Darlington.

Those dropped points have been all the more painful due to Alfreton Town, the leaders, hitting hideous form that has seen a title race open up. Carlisle United are now 1pt off of Alfreton, whilst we sit 10pts away - mathematically still in it, but I don't believe we have the consistency sadly. More importantly for us, we're 8pts inside the play-offs which is the only objective with six matches left to fulfil.

Alfreton and Carlisle have secured their 2029/30 play-off berths, while Farnborough have been relegated to tier six for the first time since 2027/28.

The regular season has come to a close and, thankfully, we've met expectations and secured a play-off spot.

Quite comfortably in truth, incredibly we were inches away from entering a title race before going winless across our final three encounters; though, to be fair, even if we had won those fixtures we still would've finished below champions Alfreton Town. We end the campaign in a respectable 3rd and will enter the play-offs in the secondary stage.

Elsewhere, as mentioned, Alfreton held firm to clinch the trophy and go up to League Two as champions. They did their best to bottle it, considering they were 13pts clear of us, then in 2nd, at the end of February. They ultimately deserve the title though, going into league football for the first time in their history. They'll be joined in the fourth tier by either us, Carlisle United, Billericay Town, Havant & Waterlooville, Sutton United or Fleetwood Town. Chorley, Concord Rangers, Farnborough and AFC Telford United all face relegation.

Not sure how they're gonna go, but bring on the play-offs!

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/H3M9c4vq7hN6k6bbMTgo8q2PmZvM0ynD5e6YTErW.png

In conclusion, the correct clubs were promoted - Alfreton Town were top for ages, while Carlisle United placed 2nd so only fair they go up. As previously noted, Chorley, Concord Rangers, Farnborough and AFC Telford United are down to the regionals.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/RKIbSTs0UssMYQz4ftmAak621x3Z1FamTDyktn7L.png

Coming down from League Two, AFC Fylde are back in non-league after seven seasons away. Newport County were the weakest outfit in that division, coming back down after one campaign with a measly 21pts. Dulwich Hamlet impressively stayed up.

As for the National League North/South leagues: Stockport County passed 100pts to get out of North, while Guiseley have come up via the play-offs. In South, Bromley are champions with runners-up Barnet also gaining promotion.

Lisburn Distillery initially declined slightly after my departure, but have since majorly improved with promotion to the Championship - of which they are now, generally, one of the better teams in that division; though in 2029/30 they narrowly avoided the drop. They spent two years away in the lower leagues, before coming back up for the 2024/25 season and have become a very respectable National League South outfit; even reaching the play-offs twice in the last two years. No trophies, obviously.

They won the title and are currently in the midst of a campaign in the top-flight, where they sit 10th... quick return to tier two on the cards.

They've won one trophy - the Munster Senior Cup, in 2028 having been runners-up for the previous four editions!

Khimik haven't gotten back to the top division of Belarusian football, though have at least stabilised around mid-table in the First League; just the Belarusian Cup up for grabs here, so predictable they haven't managed a trophy. Interestingly, as of June 2030, they are 3rd in the ongoing second tier so promotion could be on the horizon.

Barcelona are Spain's dominant force, with only the Madrid clubs breaking their stranglehold. On the note of those three, no-one has broken their grip on 1st-3rd yet. The Copa del Rey has gone similarly, though Sevilla and Valencia have won one each.

Bayer Leverkusen have been the Bundesliga's most successful club in this period, at least with the league itself after securing five titles - one more than what Bayern have achieved. Borussia Dortmund and Schalke have also been champions. RB Leipzig have only finished in the top three once. In the DFB Pokal, Bayern have dominated though other winners have happened; e.g. Borussia Mönchengladbach and Wolfsburg.

Inter Milan have taken over Serie A with five titles, with Juventus bein limited to four triumphs. Roma and Napoli have also came out on top. The Coppa Italia has mostly been won by the big clubs, though Cagliari has impressively won it on two occasions.

Paris Saint-Germain had won ten in a row up until last season, when Monaco finally knocked them off their perch. Lille, despite not winning it yet, have been the best of the rest in most campaigns. The Coupde de France has mainly been shared between PSG and Monaco, though Marseille have won it and so have, surprisingly, Amiens and Dijon! The Coupe de la Ligue, like in real life, ended after 2019/20, with Saint-Étienne winning the last edition.

Liverpool have now won the UEFA Champions League eleven times, while Paris Saint-Germain have secured their first three European Cups. Manchester City have won it twice, with Barcelona being the only Spanish club to do so. No Real Madrid or AC Milan, though Manchester United have lost two finals - both to Liverpool, which hurts to see as a United fan myself!

The Europa League has been fascinating, with a whole host of different winners. AC Milan, AFC Bournemouth, Arsenal (x2), Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers have notched maiden triumphs, while Atlético Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich have added to their tallies.

Bournemouth have also won the new UEFA Europa Conference League as well!

Pre-season has come and gone, it went largely well I'm happy to report.

Six wins in total, five of which were against lower league opposition though we did notably beat Paris Saint-Germain 2 in the inaugural Valley Parade Shield; in the third-place play-off, having lost to Bolton Wanderers in the semi-finals... Bolton won our pre-season tournament after defeating NAC Breda. I played a back-up eleven versus League One side Bolton, as I did versus Torquay United for Ben Whitfield's testimonial days later.

Fun pre-season occurrence: Matt Everitt scored six goals in the victory over Ilkeston Town!

I've made a total of four new signings.

Terry Molesley (FW), Scott Urquhart (CB), Roshane McIntosh (CM) and Sam Sampson (LW) all arrived. Molesley joins from relegated Farnborough, having notched double figures in the National League in each of the last two seasons for the strugglers - he scored 103 goals in 212 matches across five years for them, impressive! Urquhart is a young centre-back on a free from Leicester City, he'll be our fourth choice. McIntosh is a more defensive minded central midfielder, which I think we need. Sampson comes in for attacking depth down the left.

Deon Harte, who barely featured for me, left to his homeland of Ireland with Waterford, while Lee Gough departed to National League North's Oxford City for £19.25k - I signed him for free last year but he never settled, got a good fee for him - should be a great signing for The Hoops. Cavan Williams is the most noteworthy release, he went on to join league outfit Wycombe Wanderers.

This season, alongside the National League, FA Cup and FA Trophy, we also enter the Scottish Challenge Cup. Scottish I hear some of you ask? Nowadays the tournament is, rather coolly in my opinion, open to teams from Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, Ireland and Wales - as well as the youth teams of Scottish Premiership clubs. The few non-Scottish teams are invited. Sligo Rovers (IRL) and York City (ENG) have become the first foreign outfits to win the competition.

The media have predicted us to finish 5th, while the board are expecting a play-off spot once more. That's fair enough, it's the minimum of what we should be aiming for. I also forgot to mention, back in October 2029 I won a second Manager of the Month award with Bradford.

We actually start the season with games against Guiseley and Stockport County - two promoted outfits.

Lastly, something quite interesting I've spotted. FIFA World Cup winner Paul Pogba has moved into management, though perhaps not in the way you'd predict. He began in Slovenia, of all places, with Dob in 2029, staying for just over seven months prior to heading to Israel with Hapoel Be'er Sheva. Pogba is one of us journeyman folk!
