When there are good 3D sources available yes. That is where the converter is made for :)

You need Photoshop (CS6 or higher I believe), you can run a script on a 3D config.xml file and then you select an output directory in which all the 2D ones including config xml are being generated :) I included a tutorial in the zip file
We are still looking into how we can upgrade the converter to not only be used by PS. But that will take a while. I hope SI just releases their 3D to 2D converter in their editor. It's something other companies do as well (mostly racing/simulator games that allow mods).
