Greetings fellow managers! Recently, I decided to manually edit the lnc file in the database to edit the Chinese club names to real ones (like Shanghai SIPG becoming Shanghai Port, Guangzhou R&F becoming Guangzhou City and so on).

The names appears when I access the overview club page but, however, when viewing the league standings, the old names are showing up. I've attached some examples below.

Any idea how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance!

Image 1. Edited name correctly appearing
Image 2. Old team name appearing

@RavenLight, there are 2 reasons why this could be happening

a) Clubs have a short name (displayed in the league table, among other places) and a long name (displayed on the team overview page, among other places). Both need to be changed for the changes to be effected in the respective sections

b) You have not removed the hashtag from in front of the respective line of code in the lnc file.

Are you using the FM20 real name fix? Can you attach the file you've edited so I can see if there's anything wrong in it?

Hello! Thanks for the reply!

A) About this point, I edited all the long name, short name and 6 letter abbreviation.

B) About the hashtag, I don't find the # in front of the codes I entered, I might be mistaken here though but I'm almost sure I don't have it in front of the codes.

And for the FM20 real name fix, I do use a patch called “FM2020 real names license fix”.

I attached the lnc file where I edited the club names, scroll all the way to the bottom and they're there.

Weirdly, I edited the Montreal Impact club name into CF Montreal (because of their rebranding) and it worked correctly, the new CF Montreal name's showing both into the club overview as well as the league standings.

Do yourself a favour and download and install this file. There are some other files, I believe in the dbc/permanent folder which need to be removed for all that to work properly. The download I linked you to will need to be in place when starting a new career. If you want the changes to be effected in the middle of a save game, follow the instructions in the first post for a partial workaround.

@mons Well, I installed what you gave me and followed the instructions but unfortunately the issue is still there.

The club names that were edited only shows at the club overview page.

Think I have to start a new save to work.

Possibly, and let me know if that works 👍

@mons I created a new save game and indeed, the changes appeared correctly everywhere. Unfortunately on my current save I can't find a way to implement them to show everywhere.
