Southend United only 4 seasons ago were a League 1 club but the last 2 seasons they have been in the National League. Alberto Fernandez a half English half Dutch manager will be taking over Southend United trying to get them back to Glory and back to where they should be the higher leagues of the English football pyramid. This will take quite a few seasons and for it to be a good save there will be some rules.

RULES:
1. NO INGAME EDITOR IS ALLOWED TO BE USED
2. ONLY REALISTIC SIGININGS

This will be my first save on Football Manager 23 and I hope that i do not make any silly mistakes.

If anybody has an suggestions on who I should sign would be much appreciated and helpful. 🙂

I will post updates every 1 month into the save.

Pre-Season has just started now and the predicted tables have been relased and the prediction has us coming in 11th place.

This is not the best considering we are on the best teams in the National League teams like Barnet have been predicited to finish higher than us.

The aims of the first season would be to push for a play-off spot hopefully even automatic promotion.

We have simulated through the first month , this month was pre-season so we only played friendlies however we did have one tough opponent in Charlton Atheletic in League 1. The rest of teams were in divisions lower than us.

Hayes & Yeadling 1-1 (A) - D

Southport 1-3 (A) - W

Charlton 0-0 (H) - D

Clinderford 0-3 (A) - W

Dover 1-1 (A)- D

Also during this month we signed a free agent and got a loan from leicester until the end of the season.

  • Joe Wormleighton - Loan
  • Brandon Aviero - Free Agent

August has been simmed through and lets just say it is not the best start of the season.

We started with Borehamwood :

  • I was expecting a win maybe a 2-0 win
  • We took the lead early on and later on they scored an equaliser
  • We had a 90+3' minute chance and missed it a absolute shocker the game ended 1-1

Then we played Sollihul Moors:

  • I was expecting a draw maybe even a win
  • No 3-0 Loss
  • No comment “ If I speak im in big trouble”

Then we played Halifax Town:

  • I was expecting a 2-0 win
  • We went up 1-0 within the first 5 minutes and then scored our second in the 45 minute right before half time. Everything was going well
  • And then we concede a scrappy goal in the 78 minute.
  • And another one in the 89 minute
  • We scored one more in 90+1 minute … but no offside.
  • And then they scored in the 90+3 minute
  • WE LOST 3-2 TO HALIFAX TOWN AFTER BEING 2-0 UP.

Next up was Oldham:

  • Didn't really know what to expect.
  • I would have wanted to get my first win.
  • No we lost 5-2 at home.

Next we played Eastleigh:

  • After seeing the previous results I had lost all hope with our team.
  • Somehow we scored a goal in the first 20 minutes
  • Then they equalised towards the end of the game around the 75 minute
  • However the game was not done somehow in the 89 minute we get a corner and we score
  • So we won atleast one game this month was not completely a fail.
  • But we beat Easleigh who were 3rd at the time playing but the other teams we played they were not as high in the league.

Last game of this horrendous month was against Maidenhead:

  • 1-1 draw to be honest this game was a bit boring nothing intresting to bring.

So far we are 20th place with only 5 points October needs to be a much better month we must improve quickly..

September has now been simulated through and this month nedded to be a much better month considering the last 6 results that we had.

We first played Torquay United:

  • We actually played really well in this game. We started by scoring a early goal in the 7th minute. And then we conceded in the 31st minute however we bounced back and right after half time we scored a goal and towards the end of the game we scored another goal to make sure take the 3 points home.
  • So we won 3-1 at home.

After this we travelled to London to play Barnet:

  • Supposed to be a easy win especially when we had more away fans than the home fans.
  • We started off well with scorng a goal before half time and went into the break with a 1-0 advantage however Barnet scored a goal in the 78th minute.
  • Then Barnet in the 90+5 minute get a penalty and bang it in.
  • 2-1 Loss to Relegation Batteled Barnet.

We then played Chesterfield:

  • Expecting a draw considering that Chesterfield was quite high up in the league table with them fighting for promotion.
  • 3-1 Loss away from home.

We then played Wrexham at home:

  • A good game it seemed on paper. Did not really know what to expect as Wrexham did not have the best of starts to the season. They had a bit of a rocky start only being 15th place.
  • A 0-0 Draw a boring game but good result for us after coming from getting beaten by two teams which we could have won.

For the last game of this month we went back to London to play Wealdstone:

  • After just coming off a loss to Barnet the local rivals off Wealdstone I wanted a win considering they had not won a single game.
  • We started very well going into the half at 3-0 and I was really happy with teams perfomance.
  • However we had a little scare from Wealdstone by them coming at us scoring one in the 68th minute and another in the 89th minute however we held on and we won the game 3-2.

Again not the best of months however we did get 2 wins and 1 draw which is better than August

We did not hav the best of starts to this season with Southend the tactics were not working and the moral at the club was really low. I was very close to be sacked by the Board however i narrowly escaped no getting sacked here are the results for October.

First was Yevoil:

  • It was a quite boring game with no highlights until the 89th minute where we conceded a penalty.
  • However luckily our goalkepper saved the penalty and we ended up getting a 0-0 Draw.

Next up was Woking at Home:

  • Did not really know what to expect considering our terrible form.
  • We started off well getting a good chance in the 8th minute slightly missing the chance.
  • After this there was no highlights until the 70th minute were Woking go 1-0 up.
  • We quickly bounced back in the 78th minute. And then with a winner in the 85th minute.
  • A 2-1 Win a good result.

Then we played Dag & Red:

  • At the time playing them they were 22nd in the league so i was expecting a win.
  • We got really close right before halftime hitting the post.
  • But the first goal came in the 88th minute for Dag & Red.
  • Another Loss 1-0

We played Tonebridge in the FA Cup Qualifieres:

  • Not really much to say they are a team a divison lower than us and it should be a easy game.
  • We ended up winning 3-0 a good result.

Then we played Scunthorpe at home:

  • They were 24th place i was expecing an easy win.
  • However it was a very boring game and both teams ended up only taking 1 point each.
  • We were the much better side we did not convert our chances.

Maidstone away:

  • 3-0 Loss
  • Nothing much to say we got dominated.
  • We played very poor which caused us to make some silly mistakes.

Last game of this terrible month was against York away:

  • York were 5th place when we played this game so i had no hope.
  • I was hoping for a draw.
  • We ended up wining 2-0 a very good result considering our striker was injured for that game.

Not the best of months again if my team does not start perfoming I could sacked.

Hopefully November ,  December and January are much better months in which we win more games to move up the table.
