Update file - Budgets?

Hello all

 

Apologies if this isn't the right place for this but just a quick question. I've downloaded the most recent update file from this website to start a Celtic save to get me back into FM23. We have sold Jota IRL for 25/30m, he's no longer at Celtic on the game but my starting budget is 2.5m. Just to check if this is normal and if budgets are updated at all to roughly reflect any incomings/outgoings?

I don't have anything to do with the updates but just wanted to point out that not all of a transfer fee will directly go back into a club as transfer budget etc. When you factor in operating costs, marketing, merchandising costs and the various other things involved with running a football club, the amount the board actually decide to put back into the club may be significantly less than what you have to play with. If anywhere, I'd imagine the £25/£30m or the net revenue of that (income - operating costs) has gone into the actual bank account figure for the budget of the club. Otherwise you'd have a lot of clubs further down the pyramid in both countries having silly money to play with.

Yeah of course, wasn't expecting the full amount but was expecting more than 2.5m considering recent sales and CL money. Imagine I'll get a fair budget in the second season as balance sitting just shy of 60m atm. Thanks for the reply 🙂
