Haha those pictures, looks like that guy has a very strange technique when it comes to kicking a football though.

Go on Stoke! Hughesy always did have a good record with us against United. Although can't really compare that United and this one.

I have to say that Altidore finally looked a bit back to form today (though he would've been even better if he had rounded Krul and tucked away a goal). That flick he had to Colback to help set up the second goal was brilliant and his hold up play was strong today. At least that is good signs for the US. I also like how Poyet is eager to keep giving him confidence. I have to say that Poyet is a very good manager and Sunderland look like they'll stay up this year off of evidence of that.

Altidore shouldn't be playing in the Premier League. Absolute joke of a striker.

waiting for Moyes' inevitable excuse that we were unlucky with the goal and with injuries. Regardless of the fact we were dreadful on the ball and really didnt create much at all, bar a couple of good through balls from Mata who just didn't get the ball enough.

The sense of entitlement from Newcastle fans is beyond belief. A lot of them genuinely seem to believe Newcastle are entitled to be a lot better off than they are. A god given right to be challenging for the title every season.

Started properly agitating at about 10 minutes because Santon had a shite shot. Sunderland fans got right behind their team. Applauding effort and good ideas and encouraging the team. Newcastle fans were right on the backs. And complaining whenever anything is less than perfect. Absolute prats who are holding the side back.

We were very unimaginative getting forward again, which is horrible to see when we had Mata, Rooney and RVP playing. Our worst match of the season, tactics all wrong.

We didn't have any luck but at the same time we deserved nothing from the game. I can't see us getting 4th anymore, cannot wait for this season to over and get rid of the deadwood in our team and bring in new faces.

One final thing: Cleverley is awful.

I saw a stat saying that at one point in the second half we had played 194 long passes and none of them had come off. When you're not even good at playing le hoofball, that is a huge tactical problem and hardly one to get the fans motivated, not least when allied to a pathetic display. The Sunderland fans had plenty of effort and good ideas to applaud. We on the other hand had nothing resembling either of those two qualities to cheer until 2-0, and by that point, it never looked enough to rectify the situation.

Negative atmosphere is never going to help but if we're going to be shit and hand teams easy victories, then what is the fucking point.

That stat is bollocks. Accourfing to Opta Newcastle made 27 long passes, 9 of which were successful.

The fans create the negative atmosphere, which gives teams easy points. It completely drains the players of confidence, while the crowds impatience channels through to the players. If a player misses a chance, they won't want to shoot again. Crowd insist Newcastle need to play everything as direct as possible. Keeping possession and trying to control the game shows a lack of passion. And the crowd got on the players backs at 0-0 after about 10 minutes.

We are shit.

Moyes is out of his depth.

The end.

My mistake - the graph going round on Twitter as showing NUFC long passes was the graph showing all failed passes, although most of the passes on this graph were longer and more direct than passing has been recently.

But it doesn't really matter about incorrectly captioned Tweets or fans behaving like twats. We played like shit and got what we deserved, and that's the end of the discussion.

Incidentally, talking of Santon, why is he taking set-pieces?

Think yourself lucky.

We had RVP, Mata and Rooney on the pitch today. Easily 3 of the best corner takers in the club, if not the league. So who took them? Ashley Young of course.

I keep thinking United will turn it around but their misery continues. I can't see them finishing in the top four unless Liverpool have some big collapse.

Love how everything Mata does is magnified 100x and praised. Was alright today, but against Cardiff he was blown way out of proportion.

He was involved in both goals on Wednesday, got an assist today and was pretty good overall, we didn't get the ball enough to him though. You can clearly see the difference he has made and the difference he will make in the long term.

We won't get top four this season, but I'm very optimistic for next season. Moyes needs to get rid of the shit, bring in new faces with proper support in the summer window this time.

The major problem at the moment however is his inept tactics, I wish he'd just ditch 4-4-2. The way we're playing is poor, unimaginative.

He played a dodgy cross field ball for the 1st goal on Wed, and a simple 5 yard pass for the 2nd one.

They fucking showed him doing a short corner as an example of his impact.

I'm not saying he's been shit, far from it I'm sure he's been very influential, but why focus so much on it? For example, Jones had a brilliant first half, throwing himself into every tackle, why couldn't they show that?

Modern football has advanced far beyond just playing with two wingers and pumping balls into the box. Moyes has to scrap this idea that we have to play a certain way because we've played a certain way in the past. We need a big overhaul in the summer and we need to change our approach and the formation. Play Mata in behind RVP and Rooney and sign the midfielders that can allow that to be done. We're to predictable and with any decent defensive performance we struggle.

Because he's our new signing, he's bound to be the main focus of attention, with the fans and the media.

I didn't see the short corner analysis, that is pretty pathetic them calling that 'impact'.

I guess it's always the case with a big new signing for anybody, they'll be the focus. Especially with us this season when we're struggling post Fergie, the attention is on Moyes and the changes he makes.

And for the fans, we're relying on him for hope in this dire season.

Ki is brilliant.

We're appalling without Cabaye. No creativity at all.

Midtable obscurity and no cup runs seems to be the order of the day for the near future until Ashley leaves.

Stoke beat Manchester United for the first time in 30 years. Cue Mata compilation.
