Rumours flying around on Twitter that Carroll will have to retire due to his injury problems. No reliable sources as of yet though.

Didn't Twitter rumours a few weeks ago say he'd tested positive for cocaine or something?

Excellent ball by Ozil - power and accuracy, Ramsey planted his header well too.

Credit to the Cardiff fans for applauding him, lively crowd this.

3-0 is a bit harsh for Cardiff, dominated the 2nd half.

But a win there is brilliant, considering their record against the other big teams.

They didn't dominate shit, they just actually tried to do something in the second half. They had one really good chance and missed it.

Well... Fair enough.

Jol's time has gotta be up.

Didn't stop the rot from last season, don't get how he's fucked up so badly though, would have counted on him to get his team back on track by now.

This time last year we lost four in a row - there's a pleasing similarity to our improvement in a way.

Well-thought win and certainly a hell of a belter from Sissoko. Its going well now - here's hoping it continues.

Newcastle would be second now if they had beaten Sunderland.

16/18 points taken from when Shola has been available.

I doubt this run would have happened, if Newcastle beat Sunderland.

I know, but still crazy to think where you'd be with an extra three points.

It is a major annoyance of being quite good, you begin to really regret the bad results, if only Newcastle beat Hull, Sunderland and West Ham, and got the draw against Everton. Top.

Crazier to think that after the Sunderland game, most people would have loved to see Pardew sacked, and a month later he will (almost certainly be manager of the month. No doubt Arsenal fans will feel much the same about the Villa and WBA games.

More importantly though Newcastle have opened a big lead over Swansea, WBA and Aston Villa. Arguably in a mini-league with Everton and Southampton at the moment. In the upper mid-table battle.

I still think back to our opening day defeat to Aston Villa and how we could have been 10 points clear tonight. It's futile, however, as it's unlikely we would have rallied around and recovered brilliantly without that defeat. We may never have signed Ozil if we'd won. Still can't help but rue that loss though.

Rating of Cisse very harsh considering he came on about 10 seconds from the end of the game

I don't know why they'd even bother rating him, and if they did, surely a neutral 5 is fairer than a 1?

Hull owner Assem Allam has told fans "they can die as soon as they want" in response to protests about his plans to change the club's name.

Nice to build a good relationship with the fans and all that.
