It's not really stupid, why does it take him so long to show whats inside the ball and why does he have to hide his hands every single time he opens one?

Yeah it's a bit odd that he's opening all the team balls himself and hiding his hands doing so whilst taking forever.

Hardly hiding his hands, the camera angle is so shit it doesn't even show that

Qatar World Cup won't be in the summer

Good move, be interesting to see how it's dealt with now

What a disgrace. Qatar bid to have the WC in the summer, won on that basis, and now they can't fulfil that, but will still get to keep the WC.

This is why I think it's a good move. All the comments about it being a disgrace and a farce are highly amusing to read

FIFA have come out and said the decision still hasn't been made. Not like it matters as it's bound to be winter anyway.

It shouldn't be held in Qatar, but it will be, so it has to be winter in that case.

Said it before, and I'll say it again: Move the bloody thing to the US or Germany already.

Qatar won the World Cup on the promise that they could hold it in the summer, and if they've breached this promise, then it should go to someone else. You know, perhaps somewhere it isn't illegal to be gay and a nation that actually has some footballing pedigree, rather than bucketloads of oil money.

Why should that be criteria? Never was before

I thought Kosher was more for people of a Jewish faith and Halal was the way Muslims meat was prepared, though apparently a quick Google says some Kosher meats can eaten by Muslims.

Even so...

Someone must be misinformed; no muslim would request kosher food over halal unless it would be absolutely impossible to serve the latter, and as the WC's going to be played in Brazil and they are infact quite big on halal meat I don't think the French muslim players won't get to eat halal/they requested kosher instead.

The knockout stages of the tournament will most likely be played during the holy month of Ramadan btw. (The final, semi- and quarter finals for sure)

Why is asking for religiously appropriate meat in a list of 'strange' requests.

Heh, true that. In fact most of the requests aren't really strange.

Religiously appropriate meat is great terminology too.

I didn't know halal was a big thing in Brazil but even if it wasn't, whoever wrote it fucked up by getting their religions confused. I think last time I saw such a misunderstanding was on an old series of The Apprentice when some clueless dullards bought halal chicken thinking it was Kosher in a Moroccan market.

The actual request (translated) was:

As many players on the squad are muslims, the chefs are going to cook only meats of animals that did not suffer in death.

So yeah, the article reporters got it wrong
