Im happy with us getting Schwarzer really. Stops us spending wasted money on a keeper like Ruddy. Cant believe we bid 7 million to use him as a back up

Chelsea are short on homegrown players.

That's also why the Moses rumors are nonsense. He ain't going anywhere.

Ruddy wouldn't of been backup, he probably would of been the one to take Cechs place at some point down the line. He's a brilliant keeper, still annoys me that Moyes never gave him a chance. Moyes is good with youth tho isn't he. #myth

They've already got one of the best young keepers in the world on the books.

Ruddy is not better than him.

With the money they get for Benteke they could easily buy 2 or 3 top strikers.

What top strikers would they bring in?

Pretty sure Schwarzer constitutes as home grown anyway. Signing Ruddy or not really changed little since it's just a like-for-like replacement for Turnbull (position and home grown status). Which is effectively the same as signing Schwarzer. What Chelsea really lack is club trained players.

Good sensible signing though. Had been hoping he'd be considered after the need for some competitive and competent depth became required.

Yeah, Mediaset are reporting we've agreed a £71,00k p/w 5-year deal with him and have Fiorentina £21.5m. Apparently Negredo's at Sevilla's offices negotiating his departure too.

Norwich has also signed Carlo Nash. They are apparently after Leroy Fer, Toby Alderweireld and Ola Toivonen

Be a few superb signings for Norwich that - especially with the quality they already have in Van Wolfswinkel, Bassong, Ruddy etc

Top 10 beckons!

Everton have signed exciting Barcelona starlet Gerard Deulofeu.

The 19-year-old forward is described as a 'diamond' by Blues boss Roberto Martinez and arrives on a season long loan and with a reputation as one of Europe's finest young prospects.

Strootman looks set to join Roma for £17M.

De Rossi to Chelsea/City then?

EDIT: Rumours now that Thiago has chosen Bayern over United. Two targets gone in the space of an hour, yay. A mistake if he has joined Bayern though, he won't get many games.

"Thiago is the only player I want, that's what I told them," he said. "It'll be him or no one.

"We have many players but we the need the special [quality] that Thiago Alcantara brings.

"The club will decide. I told them my opinion.

"I don't think [adding another midfielder] will be a problem. I spoke to club about my concept and told them why I want Thiago Alcantara.

“Nobody will leave Barcelona, unless they feel they won't play much. He wants to play. That's why I proposed him to the club.”

At this rate we'll end up going after Sneijder again.

Gundogan would be nice though.

I guess the one possibility is that Pep thinks he's behind in this and has come out in public to put pressure on, why piss off Barca fans if he was going to sign anyway?

Massive straw clutching explination though.
